Be a better mother

Idina's POV
When I got back from taking Walker to school James had said that we need to go to the hospital. He said he'd explain on the way. So we got in the car, and after what seemed like hours of silence we got to the hospital. We sat in the car for a couple minutes and he finally said,
"Jacque was in a car crash, and that's why we're here.
I nodded and got out. We went to the front desk, where the people told us Jacque's room was 314 on the fourth floor.
We got up to her room, when we turned the corner. There she was, she was pale. There was cuts and bruises all over her body. She had a broken wrist and a couple broken ribs.
She was awake, she held out her hand and weakly said,
"Come to me Idina."I went to the side of the bed and took her hand. She looked me in the eye and squeezed my hand.
"You two have to be Oliver's parents now, James is his biological father. But I'm choosing you to be his mother after I die. Tears brimmed my eyes.
"Why are you saying that? How do you know you're gonna die?" I asked now crying.
"Idina, my heart was moved to the other side of my chest. The doctors told me I could die any minute, and I'm not gonna live through today." I squeezed her hand tighter and cried harder.
"I want you to promise me that you will be the best goddamn mother to Oliver I want you to promise me you will love him as is he was your own, forever.
I looked straight into her eyes.
"I can't promise you forever, because forever's too long. But I can promise you that I will love him as my own.
"Love him to death, please. Be a better mother than I was." Her eyes slowly shut, and I just watched. Her body went limp and she was cold. She was dead....dead cold. The room was silent and I could only hear the sounds of my soft sobs. James put his hand on my back, I looked up at him with red puffy eyes. He was crying too, I stood up and gave him a hug. I squeezed him so hard I never wanted to let go. My tears stained his shirt. Then we left the hospital, we picked up Oliver from James' parents house.
"Hi daddy." Oliver said smiling at James. James smiled back. He looked at me.
"Who's she?" Oliver asked.
"She's gonna be your new mommy." James said. He smiled at me showing that he was missing two front teeth.
"Oh. Why, where'd did my other mommy go?" He said with a puzzled look.
"She's going away for a long time, but don't worry she's in a better place now. She went to heaven with pretty angels and god, and she will watch over you every day." James said tearing up a little.
"Ok. At least she'll be happy." He said with a plain face.
James caressed his cheek
"Yeah baby. Yeah." James turned back and began driving home. He was in the front seat, and I was in the back with Oliver. Oliver fell asleep on me which I thought was adorable. When we got home I carefully slid out from Oliver and got out. Then I gently picked him up and carried him inside. James went to go pick up Walker from school. I took this time to get to know Oliver. Oliver woke up a little after we got home.
"Hi Oliver." I said rubbing his hair.
"Hi new mommy." He said reaching his arms out to give me a hug. I hugged him and picked him up. I took him out to the living room and sat him on the couch,
"Do you wanna watch a movie?" I asked smiling at him.
"Uh-huh." He smiled. He has the same goofy smile that James does. He has James' dirty blonde hair and Jacque's eyes.
"Whatcha wanna watch?" I ask going over to the movies.
"Star Wars." He screamed excitedly. Great my new son is a geek like James. It's cute but I'm not really in the mood for Star Wars. I went over and picked him up, I took him over to the huge shelf full of movies.
"Are you sure? We have a lot of other movies.. We have some that mommy has been in.." I looked at him he looked a little sad because of his mom Jacque.
"Don't worry Oliver, you won't have to live without a mother. I will be right here. I promise I'm not going anywhere and neither is daddy." He hugged me and put his head on my chest and cried. I rubbed his head and rocked him,
"Shhh...baby it's okay.. Mommy's got ya."
He looked at me, I wiped his tears away.
"Ok we have movies that Mommy's been in: Rent, Frozen, Enchanted, Ask the...never mind that movie is R rated. He looked at me with a puzzled face.
"What does R rated mean?"
"It stands for restricted, it means little kids can't watch it."
"Why not? Does it have bad words?"
"No it.... Yeah it has bad words. " he smiled. "Oh yeah you probably shouldn't watch Rent either." He nodded.
"We have all the Shrek movies, we have flushed away, Lion King, dinosaur movies. Your big brother loves dinosaurs."
"I have a brother?"
"Yeah, daddy went to pick him up from school. They should be back soon." He started bouncing in my arms.
"Yay, I have a brother. I never had a brother before." He said excitedly. I smiled and he pointed to spongebob the movie.
"We have cable. If you wanna watch spongebob why don't we watch the show?"
"Ok, I love spongebob." He says smiling. I turned the TV on and turned it to Nickelodeon and sure enough it was on.
"There ya go bud." I said walking out to the kitchen.
"Do you want something to eat?" I asked looking in the fridge.
"Nah, I ate at Nana's."
"Ok." I nodded and grabbed some yogurt.
"Do you want pudding?"
He stopped.
"DID YOU SAY PUDDING?"
"Yes." I laughed.
"I LOVE PUDDING!! Chocolate?"
"We have all kinds."
"Can I have chocolate?"
"Certainly." I grabbed him a cup and he ate it. Then James walked in with Walker. He walked over to Oliver and they looked each other in the eyes.
"Who are you?" Walker said...
(OMFG GUYS!!!! OLIVER WALKER IDINA AND JAMES!!!! Now James HAS to stay because of the kids. So him and Idina end up falling in love even more😁 sorry there isn't much Jadina in this chapter.)
