Your childhood friend insisted on practicing her make-up skills, and after initial resistance, you finally agreed to be her canvas. As she enthusiastically applied an imaginary array of makeup, she beamed, "We just have to add in some blush, eye shadow, and ta-dah! Beautiful!"

However, her deadpan tone afterwards caught you off guard, "But I don't actually own any of these, so you just have to make do with this ink," she said, handing you a mirror.

Looking at yourself in the mirror, you see what has ended up being another one of Shiorin's pranks. She's drawn glasses and a mustache on your face. Admittedly, the circles are perfectly round, and the mustache does have a nice curl to it. The x's on the cheeks are a bit slapdash, though.

You glance up at Shiori to see her expression is still deadpan, but her eyes betray her satisfaction at "getting" you.

"Really? Is... Is this what you wanted to do?" you ask, a bemused smile playing its way across your lips.

Her expression breaks, and she holds your stomach, her snickers slowly turning to a full-on belly laugh. Eventually, her laughs subside as she wipes a tear from her eye.

"Ah.... That was good... I didn't think it'd work!" she chuckles. "Come on, I'll help you clean up." she smiles, seemingly sincerely.

"Will you? Or is it an excuse to 'get' me again?" you ask her, reluctantly getting up from the chair she had plopped you into.

"Hey, you know me! I never double-prank!" she pouts, crossing her arms under her chest. "I'd think you'd know me better than that!"

"Alright, alright, sorry. You're right. I'm sorry," you apologize sheepishly.

"HA! Got you! I fibbed!" she retorts, smiling and pointing at you. "Hehe... I fibbed and got you! I'm sorry I fibbed, though..." she apologizes back, looking down toward her feet.

You decide to keep her in suspense, smirking as you watch her. She starts fidgeting and shifting her weight side to side, and glances up. You start to feel a little bad, she clearly is uncomfortable and genuinely feels bad about her "fib" and the double-prank.

"Shiorin, it's fine. I just 'got' you with my own little prank, but I didn't mean to make you feel bad, sorry..." you take a step toward her and give her a gentle hug.

As your arms wrap around her, she leans into your hug, resting her head on your chest, an ear resting on your chest. Hugging you back, she smiles and you rest your chin on top of her head.

You smile, realizing all over again that you love this girl, and wouldn't trade your relationship with her for anything.
