"What the fuck is wrong with ya'll!" Aunt Latoya snaps as she paces up and down the room
Xavier's eyes follow his mother's footsteps with an unbothered look, he's worried about Indiah but not in the mood for Latoya's shouts. We don't even know what happened, but when we got to the hospital she was on shift and almost had a heart attack when she saw Indiah being wheeled in by the medics.
"Drink here, drink there, weed this, weed that. What you think we tell you not to do this shit on purpose?" She scoffs
"You don't even know if that's what happened-
"No but I know that it's your responsibility to look after your sister when you go out to places. Now she's out here having seizures? Jesus, what kind of party did you go to"
The doctor comes in and briefly speaks to aunt Toya, if she wasn't pissed before then she certainly is now. Like no joke, I saw her upper lip twitch once the door closed behind him.
I was scared to even utter a word
"Oh so ya'll really playing with me today. How on earth did you manage to lose sight of her and let her go off on her own" She scoffs
I'm so lost....
Xavier rolls his eyes
However when his mom sees that we're not replying she suddenly looks at us with realisation, "Ohhhh so you two decided to go off and have happy time. Tell me, was the sex that good? You just had to have that moment today-
"Wait a minute-
"No don't wait a minute me. He was supposed to keep an eye on Indi, not get distracted by you", She interrupts with annoyance
Shes never spoken to me like that before, and you know had she not been my best friend or boyfriend's mama I would've popped off. But considering the fact that I actually respect her, I'm gonna choose to stay quiet.
Still, the way she's talking to me is actually hurting my feelings. And I'm getting annoyed.
"No cause you're not even letting her speak, you've not heard a full story and you're out here assuming-
She flicks Xavier's ear, "They found cocaine in your sisters' system!"
We both frown, "What?"
"Had you two been with her this could have been avoided-
"But aunt Latoya that's not exactly fair, Indi still might've-
"What are you talking back for?"
Wow ok
"Ma, chill"
Nobody gets to speak to me that way but my mother or father, and possibly GG. So before I say anything that I'll regret I'm gonna wait in the waiting room for Indiah to wake up.
"Let me know when she's awake", I say to Xavier
"Ree-
"What are we doing in a hospital?", A tired voice asks
We all look over at Indiah as she lies there frowning, I feel an instant relief settle inside me.
"My baby", Her mother murmurs whilst kissing her head with closed eyes
"Ma", She fusses
"You ok? How you feeling?"
"Yeah I'm fine-
Her tone suddenly changes, "Then what on earth were you thinking"
"Uhhhh, I'm lost"
"Child don't play with me. Did someone make you take drugs?"
