I was having the best sleep

No really it was a great one. I conked out as soon as I touched my bed last night and I haven't gotten up since, me and mom were up for quite some time watching movies and she was just giving me advice.

I probably would've slept for longer if it weren't for the vibrations against my chin.

I frown as the buzzing continues, it didn't take me long to figure out that it was my phone ringing. I yawn with my eyes closed, moving my hand around in search for my phone. I locate it underneath a couple pillows before checking to see who's calling.

It's an unfamiliar number

Usually I'm not the first to talk when a random number calls me, we have a breathing contest until they decide to speak. However today I can't be asked, "Hello?"

"Amariah"

I yawn once more, "West?"

"Where are you?"

I check the time on my phone before putting it back against my ear, "I'm not coming in today"

"I'm not in school"

I wipe my eyes as I sit up, "Oh. What's up?"

He doesn't say anything for a moment, "That offer.....is it still on"

"Yeah sure, this Thursday you can-

"I mean, can you make today an exception"

"Are you ok?", I ask softly

"Yes"

"You can come over in about an hour"

"Thank you"

"No problem. I'll send the address"

I end the call before getting out of bed and heading to the third floor, the house is pretty much empty. Mom's still here though, I open her bedroom door.

"Morning"

"Morning", She replies whilst helping Aidan put his shirt on

"Are you going somewhere?"

"Yeah I gotta sort some last minute stuff out for the charity ball"

"Alright...."

Mom looks at me knowingly, "Whats up?"

"Remember my friend that I told you about?"

"The one getting abused?"

"Yes"

"What about him"

"Well I kinda told him that he could come over if he ever felt like escaping that environment"

"Hmmm. What's his name?"

"Weston"

Mom gets up, "He can come over but Amariah don't let things get too far. He could be downplaying how bad things really are"

"I got it, thanks ma"

She nods a you're welcome

"Aidy come on, we'll get breakfast on the way"

He reaches up to hold her hand, "A croissant pleaseeee"

"Sure"

"Bye bye", He says to me as they walk out

"See you later"

Two hours had passed and I still hadn't heard from West, I mean there's no rush to be honest but how he was talking on the phone had me quite worried. I left the front gate un locked so that he could get through.
