"Then he calls me prestige like what the fuck?"

"I told you I hated his ass for a reason", My best friend replies

"Yeah well I believe it now"

She turns the tube in her hand upside down with annoyance "Argh, wait hold on my concealers finished. I'm gonna get Mama's"

"Alright"

She leaves the room and I adjust my skirt a little bit, I made sure it was thigh length so that mom wouldn't have a go at me. Anyway I then check to  make sure my hair looks fine.

"What are you dressed all sexy for-

I jump a little whilst holding my heart

"Jeez you scared me, what the hell"

It was Xavier (one of Indiah's older brothers) who decided to 'grace' me with his presence. He'll be turning eighteen later this year but me saying that he's confident would be a dramatic understatement.

"My bad"

I turn around, "What"

He's leaned against the doorframe

"Nothing, you look cute"

I don't reply to his compliment, but it doesn't stop him from continuing to look me up and down.

Today he has his hair out and he's stood there with a comb in it, it's either that or his durag honestly. He has a lot of hair and it just flows so nicely, pretty sure it's 4b. And he has such pretty brown eyes as well as a good height, he kind of towers over me. We also can't forget that one dimple-

Jesus Amariah, get it together

Zay walks a little closer and I feel a tug on my skirt, "Xavier"

"What I was just helping you" , He defends

"I thought you liked it high", I tease

Wasn't even high to be honest, but still

Our eyes connect, "I do. But I know that so will other people"

"And?", I challenge

He tucks a curl behind my ear, "Stop playing with me Ree"

"Stop acting like you're my boyfriend"

He ignores my comment but I saw the slight annoyance, he hates when I say that.

"I know. You make that clear all the time"

"You know it's not my fault-

"I know, I know"

I back up a little bit as he draws closer, "Soo.... what do you want"

"Don't ask dumb questions-

"Stop giving me an attitude, you're the one who came in here"

"Want me to go then?"

I look away from him but the proximity between us is already extremely close, and he smells so good. "I-...yes"

"You don't sound so sure", He murmurs whilst lifting up my chin

Now we're fully looking at each other, and I can't help the butterflies that are filling up the pit of my stomach. I shouldn't be doing this.
