You breathe out slowly as he closes his eyes by your side, finding the solace he has been looking for all this time.

Shiro went back to Bepo a few minutes ago to give you some space.

You drive your fingers through his ebony hair, one stroke after another, wondering how its smoothness never changed in the two years while you were separated.

But you frown when you see how a few of his wounds reopened at their edges, his blood gradually flowing in thin, crimson drops. The man doesn't seem to notice or doesn't seem to care.

Law holds his face tightly by the soft skin of your neck, his lips lightly pressed over your collarbone, his warm breath spreading through you.

He holds you like he never wants to let you go. And honestly, you don't want him to do so.

Ever since you departed at Sabaody, you felt like you weren't at the place where you had to be.

You fondle his face and look at your right hand, glowing with a faint light. It merges thousands of colors, creating a white-like tone, which only gleams with a separate hue when it changes shape while moving around you.

Since you arrived here, you almost forgot about it.

For two years, you protected a piece of his soul from the last time he touched you.

It took great effort to preserve it, as the impact of a heart doesn't last long on human beings, on the outside.

But it stayed with you because even while sleeping, a part of your consciousness clang to it as if you needed it more than fresh air or clean water.

It evolved through time, nurtured by the memories you held of your love.

A tear runs down your face.

And you let it fade.

"You shouldn't have run here," you whisper to him, moving his body back a little. It breaks your heart how weak he feels.

"If I hadn't, you would have left," he answers with a tired smile. "And I'm sick of people leaving, Wreny."

You shiver as he opens the golden eyes and leans back a little. You see how much he cares about you, but feel how hurt he is because you tried to go.

"I will stay," you promise him.

I don't want to be scared anymore.

He reaches up a little, and you kiss him deeply to comfort him, tightening your hold around him as you feel how he shudders from your contact.

You lean back when you accidentally touch a bruise on his arm, and he tenses.

"Let's go patch you up," you say silently. "I hate seeing you like this."

And when you change your grip and stand up, holding the tall man in bridal style, he gets so surprised that he takes a second to object.

"What the hell you think you are doing?!" he snaps suddenly, his cheeks deep red.

He lost his hat, so brushes his black locks to his face out of instinct to hide his eyes.

You can't help but smile at his outraged voice and move your hand to caress his flustered face.

"You could barely stand when you got here, big boy," you answer, teasing him. "I won't let you walk all the way back there."

Trafalgar Law grumbles and curses, moving around in your arms.

You click your tongue and throw him over your shoulder instead, using Haki so he won't escape with his Devil Fruit.

He lost the privilege of the princess treatment.
