❗️❗️❗️

I have made a few important changes that you must note:

Early on in the story, instead of Jackson not knowing that April was married it has now been changed to him just thinking that she was in an open marriage. This change was done because it didn't really make sense for him to see her wedding ring and not know, so if you want a clean understanding please go back and read CHAPTER 5: Mrs.Bisley and CHAPTER 24 : Dirty Girl.

"Send her in."

"Alright." Mattie sways on his feet, a little unsure but finally turns around and leaves.

Where the fuck is that pill?

I don't know why Jackson's mother is here, but if I had to take a guess based on my last few interactions with human beings? Luck wasn't on my side.

"Oh, hi dear." A voice sounds near the door. I slam the drawer shut and look up.

"Hello, you must be Mrs. Hastings."

"And you must be April." A plump woman who must be in her late forties walks over to my desk. Her glasses shine over her hazel eyes that look so much like her son's.

She pulls her shawl tightly around her shoulders.

"May I?" She waves towards the chairs.

"Yes, yes, of course." I nod nervously.

While she's getting seated I look at her properly. Ever since she walked in here I have had this feeling that I've met her before. Or atleast seen her somewhere.

But where?

I sit on my chair and clasp my hands atop my desk.

"How can I help you Mrs. Hastings?" God, I hope this is not another confrontation with a parent and they scold me on how I've treated their son.

Except, she would be rightfully angry. I did Jacskon wrong.

"You know my son Jackson?"

Shit, she's here for him afterall.

"Um, yeah." My eyes fly all over my office.

"Well, how silly of me. Let me clarify. And please if you ever see him again please don't mention us meeting until after I've told him."

What?

"Mrs. Hastings, I'm afraid I'm not following you."

"He recently purchased a house that after a viewing with you. Me and my husband would like to buy a house in that same neighborhood, preferably close to his and surprise him."

"Oh." Thank fucking God she's not here because she knows me. Wait...maybe I should confirm that?

"Um, so that's all you're here for? You don't know me?"

She blinks before chuckling.

"Yes and yes. That's all I am here for but I know you."

Ah, I knew it.

"I've been to one of your house showings before. You present beautifully. I'd almost lost my dime the last time."

"Oh, right. I remember you. You were at the Westwood House showing. You know I had been thinking that I'd seen you somewhere before just couldn't remember."

"That's funny. You should've just asked. So? Are there any houses available near Jackson's?"

"I'd have to check. But give me a couple minutes."
