When I got back, I opened the door slowly and found the room was dark. Every now and then, I could hear the soft snores of my roommates. I quickly did my nightly routine before getting into bed hoping the squeaks from the mattress springs would not wake my roommates. The moment my head hit the pillow, I fell into a deep dreamless sleep.

The next morning, I woke up to find the room empty and blinds closed. Confused, I turned on my phone to check the time. It was only 10:31. Where did my roommates go? I wondered then deciding I might as well wake up, I got out of bed and went to freshen up. Right as I got out of the bathroom, the front door opened and my roommates walked in.

"Good morning Eva!" Morgan said as she gave me a big hug

"Good morning," Brittney said putting down the grocery bags she was holding before hugging me too.

"Good morning, where have you guys been?" I said

"Well, since you were sleeping so soundly, we decided to fetch breakfast." Morgan said while opening the blinds.

"Do you want to eat outside or here?" Brittney said,

"Up to you guys." I shrugged,

"The weather today is really nice, let's make it a picnic." Brittney said,

"Ok," I said and picked up some of the bags before we headed out together. It seemed like a lot of the other students also decided to take advantage of the good weather. Beach towels were spread across the grassy areas and hammocks linked trees together. Everyone was either chatting, working on their laptops, reading, and even sleeping.

"Come, let's find a quieter spot." Brittney said leading the way to one of the empty tennis courts.

"Are we allowed in there without reserving it?" I said,

"Why not? No one is using it today and besides, I don't want bugs crawling all over me." Brittney said and after we filed in, she closed the gate.

The sun-soaked ground was warm and comfortable. I had to agree it was better than sitting in the sometimes spiky and bug-filled grass. Other than us, no one else was around so the sounds of wind blowing through the leaves and birds chirping were extremely clear.

"So, Eva spill all the tea. What happened last night?" Brittney said taking a breakfast sandwich from the stack.

"Yes, make sure to include why you came back so late last night." Morgan nodded,

"Um," I shifted uncomfortably, "It was just a normal blind date and midnight is not that late..."

"What was the guy's name?" Brittney said,

"Peter," I said awkwardly and almost immediately, Morgan's jaw dropped and Brittney started coughing,

"Who?" Brittney said,

"Peter Pietro."

"The chances..." Morgan said shaking herself,

"What do you think of him?" Brittney said,

"He is a nice guy. We already met before so the blind date turned into more of a hangout." I said,

"What did you guys talk about then?" Morgan said,

"Not much. Talked a little about ourselves then a little about Circuit."

"That's it?" Brittney said,

"Pretty much," I said thinking it was better not to mention the accident.

"What do you think of Peter as you know...potential boyfriend candidate?" Brittney said with a sly smile,

"I don't really think of him like that. He is just a friend. I don't even know him that well." I said,

"Well, friends to lovers is not all that uncommon." Brittney said, "Right, Morgan?"

"Yep," Morgan said although I had the feeling she was thinking about something else.

"Do you have his number?" Brittney said

"No," I said

"That's alright, Morgan has his number and she can give it to you." Morgan nodded at Brittney's statement. "The most important thing for now is to get him to ask you to prom!"

"Why prom?" I said,

"Because that is the closest party that will be coming up and Peter would definitely be there." Brittney said,

"I don't even know him that well. I think it might take years."

"Don't be such a downer. Morgan tell Eva what you know about Peter." Brittney said,

"I honestly don't know Peter all that well either. I only really spent time with Charlie. Perhaps its better if we don't rush it." Morgan said,

Brittney sighed, "Is there anything helpful you know?"

"Well...I do know that Charlie and Peter haven't gotten along very well after their father died." Morgan said, "But that's all I know..."

"I heard about that. My friends mentioned it once, but it was all speculation. Perhaps if you get close with him, you will tell me?" Brittney looked at me with innocent eyes.

I shook my head, "Well, if we are finished here, I need to get back to work on some homework."

"Wait! Did Peter talk to you about the...accident?" Morgan said,

I hesitated for a moment, "No," I lied. I think I will wait for her to tell me when she is ready...just so she feels like I didn't go behind her back to find out what happened from other people...I thought to myself as I headed back to the dorms.
