"Do you think Derek knows?" I asked Stiles as I laid on his bed late that night.
"Probably." Stiles answered, his thumb brushing over the scarred flesh on my stomach. "Are you okay? Did it hurt?"
"No." I answered, "I mean, at first. But then I kinda got used to it. What really hurt me was my connection to Liam, Isaac, Cora, and Derek breaking off."
He placed a kiss against the back of my hair, pulling me back against his chest as he held my hands in his. "I'm sorry I wasn't there."
"In the operating lab? I'm glad you weren't."
"No. Searching for you." he answered, kissing my temple, then my forehead. "I'm so sorry I wasn't there."
"Doesn't matter now, Stiles." I answered in a quiet voice. "...how's your dad?"
"He's okay. He's just stressing about Parrish taking the bodies. Which, he doesn't know is him yet. So, there's that."
"Hm. That'll do it." I sighed softly and sat up, rubbing my hands down my face. "I can't sleep."
"Okay. Want me to make some hot cocoa and put on your comfort show I got you for Christmas?" Stiles asked.
I smiled back at him as he stayed lying on the bed, his arms put behind his head. "I don't think The Office will help me here."
"Okay then. Um..how about a late-night walk? You love those." he suggested, sitting up.
"You're tired." I answered.
"And? I'll stay sleep-deprived for a few more hours if it means I'm able to keep you company."
"Stiles, I appreciate it, but I think I just need to be alone for a bit." I said, getting out of bed and turning towards him. "Is that okay?"
"Yeah. Yeah, that's fine. When do you think you'll be back?"
"Don't know. I'll probably just stay over at my uncle's apartment tonight. I'll see you at school?"
"Yeah. Do you need me to drive you?"
I shook my head. "I'll call Peter. He's usually still up at this time. Also, is it okay with you if I head over to Argent's before school to get a few tips on training and stuff now that I don't have any claws? Maybe learn to use a gun?"
