"Hey, Mina. Come in!" You smiled as Mina stood outside.

She sent you a soft smile as she walked into your house and closed the door behind her.

"I'm so happy you came here for our date tonight. I'm making your favorite!"

Mina furrowed her eyebrows slightly as she followed you into the kitchen.

"How'd you know this is my favorite meal?" She asked as she looked around at what you were cooking.

"I asked Nayeon." You confessed. "I wanted to make tonight special. It's our third date and I wanted you to enjoy a nice home-cooked meal. I know you don't get that all the time since you're so busy."

Her heart melted as she sat down at the table.

She played with her fingers nervously, torn on how she felt right now.

It's been so long since she's dated someone and even longer than that since she found herself falling for someone.

But you're changing that for her completely.

She's falling hard for you and she can't deny that, even if she wanted to.

"Are you okay?" You asked as you placed your hand on her shoulder.

She jumped at the sound of your voice and you suddenly standing there in front of her.

"Yeah, sorry. Just caught up in my thoughts." She said as you placed a glass in front of her.

"Nayeon also told me how much you like this drink." You said before squeezing her shoulder gently and going back to the stove.

Something about you talking to Nayeon, one of her closest friends, to ask about her favorite foods and drinks made her heart melt even more.

No one has ever done that and it made her heart flutter.

You finished cooking a few minutes later and then placed a plate of food in front of her.

"It smells and looks so good. Thank you." She smiled and began to eat.

"Good. I hope you enjoy it. Nayeon says you love it."

"I do." She said as she finished swallowing the bite in her mouth. "But I think this is the best anyone has ever made in a while. It's delicious."

You smiled brightly and thanked her before you began to eat.

You made conversation about whatever came to mind as you both enjoyed the dinner you cooked.

When you were done, you took your dish, as well as Mina's, and put it in the sink.

"I also made some dessert but we can eat that in a bit." You said before taking her hand and leading her into the living room. "Do you want to watch a movie?"

"Yeah." She said. "That sounds great."

You picked up the remote but she gently grabbed your hand in hers to get your attention.

"Could we talk for a minute first?"

"Of course. Is everything alright?" You asked worriedly.

"Yeah. I just need to tell you something." She quietly said before letting your hand go.

Just as she had done at the table a little while ago, she began to nervously play with her fingers as she got caught up in her head.

"Mina, what's going on? You can talk to me." You said softly as you put your hand over hers.

"It's been a long time since I've ever felt this way about anyone. The last time I did was about three years ago and that was the very first time I ever fell in love. I was with another girl and she was so incredible..."

She paused as her breath hitched in her throat.

"I planned my future with her out in my head. I was convinced I was going to marry her and spend the rest of my life with her. But then, one night, she went out with her friends. On her way back home, she ended up getting hit by a drunk driver and she passed away."

Your heart dropped up in hearing her say that.

"It was so hard for me to handle. I took a hiatus with TWICE to heal and try to deal with my thoughts and my emotions and it took me a long time to get back on my own feet. Living without her by my side was so painful and I thought that was it for me. There was no way I would ever meet someone else that I would want to be with or I would ever care about as much as I did her."

She looked into your eyes with her teary ones before grabbing your hands and intertwining your fingers together.

"And then I met you. This is the first time I have ever felt this way in a very long time. I care about you a lot and I'm falling for you. I know this is only our third date and we haven't been dating for very long at all but I needed you to know that so you can see just how important you are to me and that I like you a lot. I was nervous at first and torn about how I felt because moving on from that was hard for me. But I think we met for a reason. I think someone's watching over me and has led me to you. Because you're amazing and I feel safe with you."

You smiled as you let one of her hands go so you could caress her cheek softly.

"That means so much to me, Mina. Hearing you pour your heart out to me that way makes me realize that I'm not alone in how much I trust you and that it's okay for me to be falling for you as much as I am. I promise you, I won't ever hurt you and I'll always make sure that you know how special you are. I can guarantee that someone is watching over you and keeping you safe."

She smiled a little as she leaned into your touch.

"I'm falling for you too." You whispered. "We don't ever have to rush into anything. I won't push you or pressure you about anything because I can't even begin to imagine how traumatic that was for you. But I promise you, your heart is always safe with me. I won't ever let you go."

She put her arms around you as she pulled you in for a big hug.

"Thank you." She whispered.

"You're welcome." You said as you rubbed her back comfortingly.

When she pulled away a few seconds later, she leaned in to kiss you as you brushed your fingers across her cheek softly once more.

"You mean a lot to me." She said. "I hope you know that."

"I hope you know that you mean a lot to me too." You spoke softly before kissing her slowly and gently.

And she didn't hesitate to kiss you back.

Because she knew that it was okay to do so.

She was safe and, for the first time in a long time, things were starting to look up again as time healed her worst wounds.

Someone had sent you to her because you're all she's been needing.

And she thanked her lucky stars for you, knowing that you weren't going anywhere.
