"I can't believe this is happening." You said as Mina helped you get comfortable on the hospital bed.
She can hear your heartbeat on the monitor and she heard it beeping a little faster at the mention of your feeling of surrealism.
Sitting on the chair beside the hospital bed, she sent you a smile as you intertwined your fingers with hers.
"I can't believe it either. We've been waiting for so long but it still doesn't feel real that soon enough, we're going to meet our babies."
You stared into Mina's brown eyes as she brought your hand to her lips for a kiss.
"Are you sure you still want to go all natural through this? I hate seeing you in pain. But you know that if you still want that, I'm here to support you all the way."
"I'm sure. It's what I want." You told her. "I just need you, that's all."
"I'm here, my love. I'm not going to leave your side for even a second, I promise you." She assured and you shared a quick kiss, the last one before things started picking up.
—
"Things are definitely getting closer together." You told Mina as a shaky breath left your lips. You had just finished getting through yet another intense pain and tried to catch your breath.
Mina's been keeping an eye on the clock on the wall and is watching how things are getting stronger.
The pain is so intense and she sees that the time apart is starting to lessen each time it comes around.
This wasn't too surprising since the doctor said that you were progressing pretty quickly and it would just be a few short hours until your babies were here.
But Mina just can't help herself but to keep doing things like that.
"Do you want to sit back on the bed? Or are you still comfortable walking around?"
"I want to sit if that's okay."
Mina helped you over to the hospital bed and gave you a soft kiss on your forehead when you were sitting down.
"Whatever makes you feel comfortable, my love. That's what matters right now."
You went to speak, wanting to thank her for being here with you through everything so far and all there is to come because you can't imagine not having her by your side.
But before you got the chance, you groaned in pain as it came back again.
"Mina," You whimpered. "It's coming back."
"It's okay, baby. I've got you." She whispered and let you squeeze the life out of her hands. "Don't bite your lip, baby,"
She brushed her fingertip across your lower lip and watched you let it go, worried that if you had continued to bite it so hard you'd make it bleed badly.
"You're doing incredible."
You exhaled heavily and looked at her before she began to brush the hair that clung to your face away as sweat rolled down your skin.
"Thank you."
She sent you a little smile.
"For everything. Everything leading up to now and for being here now when I need you most because I can't imagine not having you here. I don't think I could do it without you."
"I told you that I wasn't going anywhere." She whispered before kissing your temple. "I'm here for you through everything to come. You're my girl, we're in this together, every step of the way."
