The sound of Mina's whimpers and groans broke your heart a little more each time you heard them.

You've been waiting so long for this day to come and as excited as you feel about your' and Mina's baby arriving, it's hard to focus on the excitement when your wife is in such intense pain.

"I've got you, Mina,"

She's squeezing the life out of your hands and is biting her lip harder than you've ever seen her do before.

It's been eighteen hours since labor first began and you know the baby is very close to being born.

According to the doctor the last time she checked Mina, it wasn't going to be long at all.

It's been almost an hour since then and you're hoping that it's very soon because seeing Mina in so much pain is overwhelming and is shattering your heart.

"Y/N, it's so bad,"

"I know, my love. I know. You're doing such a great job. I'm so proud of you."

She tried to catch her breath as the pain faded away for a few seconds.

She put her head on your shoulder and shifted around on the floor in the hospital room.

Out the window, you could see the sun starting to rise.

It was almost six am according to the clock on the wall and as exhausted as you feel, you know Mina is struggling even more.

You were about to speak to try and whisper words of comfort and encouragement in her ear when she groaned again.

"It's coming back again."

"Squeeze my hands, baby. You're okay."

She didn't feel okay.

The pain was so bad but along with it, she felt pressure, and she knew that meant the baby was coming for certain.

"Y/N," She whimpered at you and the second her eyes met yours, you knew what was happening.

"It's okay." You spoke and kissed her sweaty forehead as you got up and peeked out of the room.

Her doctor just so happened to be coming down the hall to check on her again and you nodded at her as soon as she saw you.

After helping her on the bed and getting the confirmation from the doctor that the baby was coming now, you took her hand and gave it a loving kiss.

Mina was still in a lot of pain, even more now than ever, but you could tell that she was a little nervous as her eyes met yours.

"Our baby is finally coming." She said as you put your forehead against hers.

"Finally."

She managed to crack a smile despite the anxiety and pain.

"I'm right here, Mina. I've been here to support you the whole time but I promise you, baby, I'm not going anywhere. You can do this."

You kissed her temple and held her hand as she began to give in to everything and bring your baby into the world.
