Chapter 16: About time

Kronii's PoV:

There we were, hanging out on a balcony on the third floor of the resort we are staying in. Mumei was reading a book, Sana was playing with her bread puppy, Fauna is also reading a book and Baelz... Is being Baelz.

"It seems that we don't have to manipulate the strings when it comes to this phase of the plan..." My fellow council members, Baelz, muttered out. Overhearing what was going on with Dante.

"Pity, I had very interesting ideas on how we would make his public image go sour..." Fauna pouts with clear intent of dissatisfaction. Mumei on the other hand, didn't have a word when it comes to this situation. Weird, with situations like these, Mumei would be on board with Fauna.

"Oh please, It's not like we had to do much to make him look bad." Rolling my eyes to showcase my lack of amusement to this situation.

"Well... It seems that Kiara-senpai and Calli-senpai went after him..." Sana said.

"Oh let them be, It's not like that would be an issue." Baelz said.

I suppose that listening to them wouldn't be much of a hassle... Might as well since we might get something out of this.

Dante's PoV:

"Well? Say something!" Kiara seems to be impatient, how rude, you can't rush a good lie.

Then again, I promised them the truth... But will I prevail this time? Probably not.

"Like I said a while back, I do love Noel, but she's better off with Flare." Trying to keep a calm tone is killing me more and more inside, I don't wanna act anymore.

I wanna be more genuine with these things... But I can't afford to be attached to them, It was too late for me to have an opportunity to leave Noel's life..

"In fact, I'm glad that you're here to remind me of the contract, Pomu." I lied as naturally as I breathed.

"What? I thought that you were rather... Uncomfortable?" Well, It was rather strange but I guess Pomu could say that.

"That may be true, but I was backed into a corner. If I didn't do anything back then,   the outcome may come out worse." The words that came out of my mouth... It didn't feel natural...

"What am I saying? It feels weird... Wait a minute..." Furring my eyebrows, I began to notice something and then it clicked me. "I get it... Virgil... I guess I can thank you for speaking on my behalf."

"Although... I don't like where this is Going..." Doubt has been on my mind ever since I realized that Virgil was speaking instead of me, but I might as well let him do the talking.

"Oh, so you were overwhelmed? I get that, but shouldn't you come up with a cover? You should improve on your improvising." Kiara said, crossing her arms while giving me a rather unamused look.

"I suppose it's Ideal for a streamer, or rather a Vtuber, to have such skill." I internally bit my lip in anticipation of what Virgil was planning right now.

Meanwhile.

3rd person's PoV:

There she was, Noel Shirogane crying for the sudden act of betrayal(?) that Dante has committed. Flare was there to comfort her, Marine was getting her some water, Rushia wasn't there for some reason, And Pekora was cursing out Dante until he can't hear her anymore.

The other people who was there to witness the whole thing just sat there in silence. On one hand they wanna help, but on the other hand, they're either not close to her or they couldn't bare to see someone crying.
