The figure was Gaylord and I screamed with joy but then looked at Angus who was staring at the building with a lost expression. But then I saw another figure appear with blonde hair, and Gaylord turned.
"Oh you wanna go again?" and she charged after her and they went into the building again.
The building collapsed in on itself and dust covered the area. I saw only one figure rise from the dust and I knew it was Gaylord who survived.
"Angus I'm sorry." I told him. I really was sorry I knew he loved her more than anything.
"It's not your fault. It no one's fault but her own, you know? She's changed over the years and she wasn't the same woman I married." Angus said, looking down.
I didn't push him for more information, and everyone looked at a loss. I didn't know what we were going to do, I'm sure we would be blamed it was our faults anyway. If we hadn't stayed Angus would've still had his wife.
The fire department was called, but they couldn't figure out how the fire had started. The police also showed up and asked some questions before leaving the scene. Bon had an apartment close by so we all decided to go there and figure what we were going to do. Malcolm stayed close his brother looking at him with concern and worry.
"What the hell happened back there?" Bon questioned, I was actually surprised that he was the one to ask this question.
"I don't know, it was a freak accident." I told him. I had a feeling Gaylord was the one to start the fire but I couldn't really ask questions with all of them here, and I was worried about Angus, plus I didn't feel like bringing up his dead wife in front of him and have him constantly think about it.
"That's for sure, but what are going to do? Should we leave or stay? It's not like we did this on purpose but the fact that someone died might make us their number one suspects." Malcolm said anxiously, pacing the room and running his hand through his long brown hair.
No one seemed to have any answers, looking over towards Angus I saw that he was zoning out while looking out the window. I hoped we hadn't just messed up his life royally even though I know we had, and it didn't help that I had been the one to tell Angus his wife would survive and given him false hope. I was waiting for him to snap out of his shock and blame me for her death, he wouldn't be far from the truth.
"I think we should lay low for a while, just so it doesn't look like we know anything and then leave to go to London we can finish the album there." Cliff suggested, his voice soft.
"Cliff how can you even think about the album? Honestly have some sympathy for my brother!" Malcolm yelled, glaring across the room at Cliff. His eyes had a crazy look to them, and his hair was wild.
"No, he's right. We should focus on the album there's no need to stop everything. I don't want pity from anyone I'm alright." Angus said in a monotone voice. His eyes held no real emotion, they looked cold and vacant as if Angus was no longer there.
"You don't mean that. I'm your brother I know you better than anyone else Angus you couldn't fool me if you tried." Malcolm accused him getting in his face now, "Don't do this, and don't yourself shut down."
"Mal, I'm fine! I'm not upset about her death. Bloody hell I'm worrying about something else I swear I wouldn't lie to you and I'll tell you what's bothering me as soon as I feel the need to." Angus exclaimed slamming his hands down and looking furiously up at Malcolm.
"How can you say you're not upset about her death? You've only been married to the woman since 1980!" Malcolm yelled sarcastically.
"We weren't exactly the happiest being together. I'm not saying I'm happy about her death but Mal I haven't had a close connection to her in a long time." Angus said, his voice calmed now.
"You should've came to me when you started feeling that way, I'm your big brother for a reason you know." Malcolm said with a grin. "So if that isn't what's bugging you than what is?" He asked.
"Something happened a few weeks ago, and it changed me I'm just trying to figure it all out Mal and when I do I'll tell you I promise." Angus said glancing at me. It could've been my imagination but I swore he gave me a wolfish grin before returning his focus on Malcolm.
I sat next to Ivy and Gaylord after that and from the looks they were giving me I hadn't been imagining the look after all. The guys decided we would leave for London at the end of this week, which is if we wanted to go with them. Gaylord and I refused to leave Ivy and miss her wedding, so not going with them wasn't an option. We packed throughout the week and I ended up spending most of my time with Angus. We were closer, but I still felt awkward around him and I was trying to figure out what I felt for him. I was kidding myself when I told Ivy I only liked him as a friend that was obviously a lie. I've always had a slight crush on him but actually meeting him and spending time with him made that crush grow. It wasn't love but it wasn't a fan girl obsession either.
"Hurry up people the plane is going to leave without us!" Malcolm shouted, from the doorway.
"Malcolm we have a private jet, it leaves when we say it leaves!" Phil yelled back.
I laughed at their banter while packing my last article of clothing.
"What is it?" Angus asked from behind me, scaring me to death.
I turned and again caught him giving me this look before he hid it away.
"Did you not just hear those dorks?" I responded, shaking my head and turned back to my suitcase that was on the bed.
I waited for him to comment but he never did so I figured he left. I zipped up my bag and turned and almost smacked into Angus. I wanted to say something but I couldn't get out the words. I looked into his eyes and he was looking back into mine. His eyes were a nice light shade of bluish green that made me lose my train of thought, our faces were maybe an inch apart. I didn't want to move, I never wanted this moment to end. I glanced at his lips and back to his eyes. He moved slightly forward there was almost no space in between us now, and I didn't notice how we were leaning in closer. I closed my eyes when I felt his lips graze mine.
