"Lorna" I heard someone say, pulling me away from my slumber.
"What?" I whispered, my voice heavy and slow.
"Come over here." Ivy whispered back.
I grumbled and attempted to get off the bed but Angus had his arms securely around me, trapping me to him. I squirmed around for a bit and finally he rolled over, allowing me to escape. The room was still pitch black and I managed to stumble my way over to the other bed that Ivy was on. I stretched out my arms and felt the soft fabric of blankets under my fingertips.
"What do you want?" I asked her, wanting to go back to bed soon.
"Just letting you know that I know you and Angus are getting serious and to remind you that we'll have to leave."
"You woke me up to tell me that!" I whisper yelled.
"That and I forgot what else I was going to tell you." She replied.
"Okay. I'm going back to bed now." I told her, finding my way back to the other bed and crawled back onto the bed. It didn't take long for Angus to roll back over and pull me to him again.
"Don't leave." Angus mumbled.
"One day I'll have to go." I replied.
"Why?" He asked.
"Angus, it's complicated."
"I really hate that answer." Angus said, his voice showing his annoyance.
I nuzzled closer to him and sighed. "I would rather stay with you Angus, trust me when I say that there's nowhere else I'd rather be than right here with you."
"Stay then. I feel the same way about you so I fail to see why you have to leave." Angus replied.
"Let's just enjoy the time we have together, yeah?" I said, running a hand through his hair.
"At least tell me when you're about to leave so we can say goodbye." Angus said.
"I wouldn't be able to leave and you wouldn't be able to let me go." I said to him, hating myself when I saw the sorrowful pain in his eyes.
"Are you not planning on coming back to visit?" He asked, although I knew that he already knew the answer.
"No, I wouldn't be able to." I replied, trying to think of a reasonable excuse.
Angus quickly responded, "I could always come visit you when the band's touring. I still don't understand why you don't just tell me why you have to leave."
"I can't stay here Angus that's why I have to leave eventually, I don't exactly have a house here in Europe or the U.K. and neither does Ivy or Gaylord. We live in Washington and not one of us has the money to move over here." I said, feeling awful for lying to him but I was only half lying.
"I could still come see you, and if you're truly leaving because you live so far away I have another solution to that problem as well." Angus replied.
I had an idea of what his solution was but yet I hoped that maybe I was wrong. There wouldn't be a way for me to give a reason for I'd refuse other than the fact that I said, 'no'. Still I humored myself and responded. "And what would your solution be Angus?"
"You know, you could always move in with me. I know you'd be concerned about Ivy and Gaylord but we could come up with a way for you guys to see each other." Angus said, a pleading tone hidden in his voice and his eyes shone with determination, determination to convince me to agree with him.
"We've only known each other for a handful of weeks, almost a full month, and you think that moving in with each other is a good idea?" I said, trying to sound stern but even I could hear the lack of backbone in my statement. It'd be all too easy for him to break me and then what would I do? I would still have to leave. Ivy and Gaylord would make sure of that because they wouldn't leave without me.
"I do think it's a good idea, and I never said you had to but that if you wanted to, the option was there." Angus replied. Continuing with, "So what do you say?"
Sighing heavily, I thought about the consequences if I agreed. Gaylord would be unhappy and likely to want to leave without me out of irritation and Ivy would call me an idiot for agreeing and proceed to remind me that when we left I would only hurt him more. I pushed those thoughts to the back of my mind and said to myself 'to hell with it'.
"Yes Angus, I'll move in with you after the tour is over with." I replied with a grin.
Angus smiled widely and I couldn't help but grin back at him. We settled back down in the bed with me curled up against him and just as I was about the fall asleep, I heard him mumble "I love you."
I couldn't stop the happiness that flooded through me, "As corny and cliche as this Angus, I love you too. Now goodnight and make sure that you don't wake up Ivy if you get up early." I whispered to him, before going to sleep.
