"And last but not the least, co-captain player number 17, Yoon Jeonghan!"

It was the day of the first game for the year's SCS League, which stands for South Korea College Sports. Shining Diamonds against Blitzing Astros. Byeol was watching from the bench when the commentator announced her teammates' names, ending with the co-captain. Her eyes were glued to Jeonghan as everyone, except her, stood up to sing the national anthem. She could see the tension radiating from everyone in the arena, and although she wasn't playing because of her injuries, she was one of the most nervous out of all of them. Her nervousness was accompanied by a feeling of slight disappointment. Byeol was healing faster than normal, yet she was still not allowed to play for the first game, but her coach did promise her that he would let her go on the court for a while for next week's game.

The game started with the ace player of Astro scoring the first point, in which the whole arena vibrated from the cheers of the people on their side. Byeol couldn't help but bite her nails the whole time, a bad feeling arising in her stomach. After a tense 25 minutes, Byeol finally got the courage to look at the score board.

39 - 44... well, sh*t.

She look back onto the court, seeing the same player of the opposing team prepare for a free throw surrounded by sweaty and determined players. "Please don't score for once." She heard her teammates beside her say as the two clutched their hands together into fists.

Byeol spotted Jeonghan outside the painted box, his eyes set on the floor beneath the player across him. She squinted her eyes at him, scanning his face as she realized he was spacing out. Licking her lips, she sighed, the chanting on the bleachers getting louder once the game continued after the Astro player completed both free throws.

"BLITZING ASTROS, WE OWN EVERY COURT! A-S-T-R-O-S HEY HEY HEY! AS-TR-OS!"

The score was now 39 - 46. Byeol leaned against the wall behind her, her gaze still lingering on her co-captain. What had gotten into him to the point where he was spacing out in the middle of a SCS game?
