Hi! This chapter is something I was waiting like crazy to write down and after I got an idea for the ending my excitement grow even more. So I hope you will have a bit of, how to call it?, interesting time while reading and not tear me when you finish 🙈

Thick smoke of dust continued to rise above their heads until Sam saw a faint ray of light that reached all the way to the floor. Sam groaned, pushing against the ground with his hands to lift himself up slightly. He looked around. When the initial shock wore off, he remembered that Penny and the others were still here with him. He immediately jumped to his feet. He picked up his helmet, which the force of the impact must have knocked off his head, but he dropped it again as soon as he saw the glint of the uniform reflecting the flashlight light near him.

"Penny!" He said in horror, shaking Penny's shoulder gently but firmly. "Please," he added pleadingly as he crouched down next to her, but to his relief he saw Penny gently floating on her arms just as he had a moment earlier.

"I'm fine," Penny assured calmly. She slowly sat up, looking around. "Where's the rest?"

"I honestly have no idea," Sam said helplessly, standing up. "The explosion must have separated us."

"And collapse a lot of the roof," Penny pointed out, looking up.

"And that means..." Sam began with horror. "My whole team was on the roof."

"Sam, I'm sure they're fine. They were supposed to be checking the other part of the roof," Penny reassured Sam. "They certainly managed to find a safe shelter in time."

"What if not?"

"Then we'll find them. We can do it together, Sam," Penny placed her hand on his shoulder reassuringly.

"Are you okay?" They heard a question behind them and turned to see Elvis.

"Yes and you?" Sam replied.

"Yes," Elvis laughed with relief. "But where are Ellie and Arnold?" He asked seriously, handing Sam his helmet.

"Ellie! Arnold!" They started calling, but fortunately they didn't have to wait long for an answer.

The screams came from behind a piece of sheet metal that separated the tunnel from the wall. Sam, Elvis, and Penny went around both sides of it, but the only gap it created was too small for anyone to squeeze through.

"We'll lift it together. On three," Sam offered.

And the idea actually worked, and they were relieved to see that Ellie and Arnold also seemed to be okay. Sam and Elvis helped Arnold up while Penny had already helped Ellie and they were both taking off their breathing apparatus.

"What are you doing?" Arnold asked confused.

"There won't be much use for these tanks anyway. We're all almost out of air," Ellie explained.

"And the dust isn't that thick," Penny added, setting her breathing apparatus down next to Ellie's.

"Statistically, it's easier to survive with just a little air in your tank than with no protection at all," Arnold said, reluctant to do the same as Sam and Elvis.

"Arnold, we don't care about statistics," Ellie interrupted him, annoyed.

"We need to get out of here, any ideas?" Arnold asked, changing the subject.

"We know that the front entrance is blocked by a sheet of roof. Without equipment, we won't be able to get through it, and the gaps, if there are any, are definitely too small to be able to get through," Penny gave an overview of the situation.
