The quartet trudged through the swirling snow. Harry's donned Hermione's scarf and Ron's hat to disguise himself.

"Those weasels! Never told me about any Marauder's Map!" Ron said.

"But Harry isn't going to keep it. He's going to turn it over to Professor McGonagall, aren't you?" Hermione said.

"Oh sure. Along with his invisibility cloak, his pack of exploding snap cards, his--"

"Oh, shut up." Hermione stopped before Ron could say more.

"Rosmerta, m'dear!" A voice said up ahead and when they turned their head to the voice, they saw that it was Cornelius Fudge, emerging from a Ministry sleigh as Hagrid swings the door clear and-- with unfortunate ease-- rips it clean off the fittings. Fudge joins McGonagall and Rosmerta outside the Three Broomsticks pub.

"That's Madam Rosmerta. Ron fancies her." Harper said playfully, bumping his shoulder with Ron who returned it.

"It's not true!" Ron exclaimed, playing along, though he let out a small chuckle.

"Shhh." Harry shushes them, trying to listen in.

"I trust business is good?" Fudge said.

"It'd be a right sight better if the Ministry wasn't sending Dementors into my pub every other night." Madam Rosmerta said.

"We have a killer on the loose." Fudge said.

"Sirius Black? In Hogsmeade! And what would bring him here?" Madam Rosmerta asked.

"Harry Potter." Fudge said.

"Harry Potter!" Madam Rosmerta repeated.

Fudge looks around nervously, then jerks his head towards the pub. He leads Rosmerta and McGonagall inside.

"Harry?" Ron said, looking for Harry but didn't find him anywhere near them.

"I guess he wanted to hear the truth." Harper said, following after Ron and Hermione.

"How much have you known Harper?" Ron asked, slowing down so he could walk beside Harper.

"A lot..." Harper said, trailing off and thinking if he should tell Ron about his rat.

"What is it?" Ron asked, looking at Harper who turned towards him with a confused expression. "You have that look on your face when you're thinking about whether to tell the person or not."

"Wow, Ron, you must've watched him a lot if you know his thinking face." Hermione said, smiling when both Ron and Harper blushed.

"I saw a rat transfigured into a man." Harper answered after a minute of silence, turning his head to look at Ron. "It looks like your rat, has a missing finger and anything."

"Scabbers are not people. It must've been one of those not true vision things." Ron said, denying it.

"And how many times has he been wrong?" Hermione came to Harper's defense, stopping to look at Ron and Harper behind her. "Dumbledore said that, but it has never been wrong."

"But it could be." Harper said, hugging himself as he looked down at the ground, not catching the guilty expression on Ron's face. "There's a first time for everything, Hermione." He said, shrugging and walks off.

Hermione turned her attention to Ron, staring hard at him before following after Harper.

Ron stood there, a guilty feeling deep inside of his chest before he slowly started following after them.

Harper suddenly looks up from the ground when he feels something at the back of his mind and looks towards the pub door, three seconds later the doors fly open.

He looked down at the footprints appearing in the snow, standing up and followed after the footprints without a second thought.

Ron, Harper and Hermione followed the footsteps until at the outskirts of town.

Harper walked towards Harry, a small sad whine coming out of him when he heard a sob coming from where Harry is sitting, ignoring the weird look he gained from Ron and Hermione. He approached Harry, kneeling on his knees and gently takes off the cloak from Harry.

Harper pulled Harry into his chest, letting Harry cry into his chest, rubbing his hand up and down Harry's back. He let Harry take his time before speaking of what he had seen in the pub.

"He was their friend. And he betrayed them. He was their friend." Harry said, wrapping his arms around Harper, finding the brunette presence calming, even though he knows Harper already knows this.

"Remember what I said at the Leaky Cauldron Harry, maybe he didn't kill your parents." Harper said, letting Harry look up at him from his place with his red teary eyes. "Maybe he was wrongfully convicted and Peter killed them instead."

"Is that what you saw?" Harry asked, waiting for Harper's confirmation.

Harper nods, wiping the tears on Harry's face. "Yes..." He whispered, letting Harry place his head against his chest again, comforting him. He looked up at Ron and Hermione and saw them fondly watching him and Harry.
