Neville comes running up towards the trio, looking pale and scared. "Harry, I don't know who did it, but... you'd better come."

The trio nodded and followed Neville.

Harry's space of the dorm is a disaster: trunk riffled, drawers flung open, bedclothes strewn on the floor.

"It had to be a Gryffindor. Nobody else knows our password. Unless, it wasn't a student..." Hermione said as Harry and Ron share a look behind her.

"Hermione we have something to tell you." Ron said, watching Hermione turn around to look at him.

"What is it?" Hermione questioned.

"It's about the diary--"

"It's gone." Harry said, after having looked everywhere for the diary. "Harper was here." He said, gaining a confused look from Hermione who looked at him and Ron.

"What are you two talking about?" Hermione asked.

"Moaning Myrtle said Harper was the one that had thrown that diary at her." Ron said slowly, fiddling with his fingers. "Harper had the diary with him."

"That could explain his whole personality being different." Hermione said.

"You're not mad?" Ron asked, looking up from the floor.

Hermione shakes her head. "You're trying to not make me worry more about Harper."

"As you can see, the Heir of Slytherin has left another message. Our worst fear has been realized. A student has been taken by the monster. Into the Chamber itself. I'm afraid we shall have to send the students home I'm afraid... this is the end of Hogwarts." Professor McGonagall said as Harry and Ron creep up the stairwell.

"So sorry. Dozed off. What have I missed?" Lockhart said, bustling in cheerily.

"Just the man. A boy has been snatched by the monster, Lockhart. Your moment has come at last." Professor Snape said.

"My m-moment?" Lockhart stuttered.

"Weren't you saying just last night that you've known all along where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets is?" Professor Snape asked.

"D-did I? I don't recall..." Lockhart said.

"That settles it. We'll leave it to you to deal with the monster, Gilderoy. Your skills, after all, are legend." Professor McGonagall said.

"V-very well. I'll-- I'll be in my office, getting-- getting ready." Lockhart said, walking away.

"The rest of us should go and inform the students what has happened." Professor McGonagall said.

"Who is it the monster's taken, Minerva." Professor Sprout asked.

"Harper Granger." Professor McGonagall answered.

Ron's knees give way as Harry catches him, the teachers scatter, revealing what is written on the wall.

His skeleton will lie in the Chamber forever.
