"Um- I- you- uh," I tried to form a sentence but failed terribly.

"Yeah, just a long day." She lies.

"Eliza-,"

"Lizzie." She corrects me.

"Lizzie- I'm sorry your friend yelled at you." I tell her honestly. I've been exactly where she is, more than once and it is not a good feeling.

She doesn't say anything, she drops her eyes to my hands, looking at me intensely playing with my rings. Which reminds me she took one of my favorite rings and I need to get it back because it means a lot to me and I don't want it to get lost. Maybe on Friday I can ask for it back during World History since that's the only place we can have a somewhat decent conversation.

Neither of us has said anything for a few seconds, it's an awkward silence and thankfully it doesn't take long until Kimber is back and ready to leave.

"Chezza and Cola are on their way to class," Kim informs us, "they had to stop to get... your clothes from Nic's room? They won't have time to meet us here so let's get going." She reads from her phone.

"My clothes?" I'm confused because I didn't ask for clean clothes or anything.

"Chez said Nicola has some of your dance clothes, I don't know." She shrugs her shoulders.

I can see Lizzie is rolling her eyes, and it's instances like this when I dislike her.

"Come on babes." Kim offers both her hands to us, and I take one right away.

"I know I'm no Cola, but you can hold my hand." She jokes. It has become a routine to hold hands with Nicola. We are both a ball of anxiety, so it helps.

"You wanna hold me hand Kimbaaa?" Lizzie teases in a very bad Cheryl accent.

"Don't let her catch you doing that she will have your head." Kim laughs but the look on Lizzie's face is pure fear.

"Kimbers don't say that- don't tell her I said that, please?" I think Lizzie really believes Cheryl would actually fight her.

"Relax, we both know it'd be a fair fight." I somehow don't think Lizzie would stand a chance against Cheryl.

"Right." I chuckle- not realizing I had said it a little too loud for them hear me.

"Oh really? You don't think I can take Chez-Cheryl in a fight?" Lizzie looks offended and not as petrified as she did two seconds ago.

"Uuhhh, honestly-,"

"I would watch what comes out of that pretty little mouth of yours." Lizzie warns me, and Kimber just laughs.

"Plead the 5th?" I offer not sure how to really act in front of Kimberley. This is the first time I have ever said anything directly to Lizzie in front of someone else.

Although Kim doesn't seem to mind. She's just walking like this is normal to her. She's been holding my hand very softly but in a protective way which I don't really see that often. It's mainly both Nic and Cheryl that come to my rescue. Kimberley is more reserved; she will stand up for me but in a very passive way that makes me feel uneasy. I would hate to be the person on the other side.

"NO- NO I want to know. I can so take Cheryl." Lizzie argues trying to force eye contact, but I refuse. I just keep my eyes down.

"Kimberley Jane Walsh, you know I can take your little wee Tweedy girlfriend." She crosses her arms in front of her chest.

"Ha, Nicola can take you down!" Kim laughs a little too loud and I can tell she's just trying to wind Lizzie up.
I do have to admit, this is so fun to watch.
