𝙼𝚊𝚕𝚎𝚎𝚔 𝙼𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚚𝚞𝚎'𝚜 𝙿𝙾𝚟
"Where are you?" My hand moves to the ceiling flicking the light on, illuminating the once dark car.
"I'm out" I reply, eyes scanning the interior of the car as I search for my jacket.
It's more chilly out than I had expected it to be.
Hissing, I place the phone on my lap and stretch over the centre console towards the passenger seat.
Placing a hand on the cold leather, I use the other to search the floor. A finger brushing against the jacket before I wrap my fingers around it and pull it up towards me.
A sigh comes from her and I click my tongue. "Are you at his house?"
My eyes lift from the floor and towards the road ahead.
His house is about a mile away. I usually park here so as to avoid the high-priced tickets that are given out like free food here.
I shake my head while gruffing out an answer. "No mommy"
Giggles of hers fill the car before she prompts me to take a video of me for her to see that I'm okay.
I end the call and settle a bit in the silence.
Reflecting heavily, my hands continuously run their way over my face, trying to rid me of the slow depression that's threatening to swallow me whole.
I scuffle closer to the steering wheel and rest my pounding head against it.
I keep my eyes open despite the need to sleep. My phone dings pulling me out of a daze.
"Mi a wait!" Mommy text reads and I groan before exiting the vehicle.
With a flick of my hand, I drape the jacket over my shoulder for the brief seconds needed to take the video and send it to her.
