A sigh escapes my slightly agape lips as I lean into Jamarion's embrace. His hands wrap around me even more, bringing my once-worrying mind at ease.
"Let me finish up then we watch a movie or something" At his words, I shake my head not interested in his proposal.
I lift my head to view his face. It feels like it's been years since I've had him to myself.
Him being in the hospital really took a toll on me, and brought me down to one of my lowest in life.
My fingers rake through his growing beard loving the way, it feels. He leans into my touch and I giggle.
"Salt and Pepper your thing deh now" I tease and he hisses pulling away from me.
Laughing even harder, I take my position around the island, seating myself on a stool as I bask in the quietness of our home.
It's been months since it's been this quiet.
Jari, the twins and Jalana went to stay with Renae last night when Jam and I went out on a date.
While Maleek hopped on a plane yesterday and landed in Jamaica last night.
I completely forgot how nice it felt to wake up when the sun was about to greet the sea and make breakfast when we should be worrying about dinner.
Jam turns to face me. "Weh yuh seh yuh waah again?"
Placing my elbows on the counter, I pull up myself to see over the little edge blocking me from seeing the different types of sausages he has laid out.
"Yuh caah just fry the wings and thighs we have in the fridge and mek mi we eat it with waffles." His eyes dart to me from, flipping the plantains.
He stares at me forcing a round of giggles out of me. He looks away to not laugh.
"No Azriel, no" I stand pouting.
"Please," I beg.
"No"
Hissing, I move towards the fridge pulling out the parcel of chicken I had placed to thaw out.
