WHO ARE YOU WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING?4 Months Until Victoria's Death...
As Victoria lies asleep upstairs in her room after a long day Samuel decides to go outside to the front yard to blow off some steam and have some time to think about everything that has happened today.
The fact that he beat up Victoria's father, almost got killed at the hands of the girl he loves, and jumping her ex-boyfriend and breaking his windshield were all normal for Samuel. But Christina showing up from the dead like that is something unspoken of. "Still on your same old habits aren't you now Sami?" Christina giggles as she closes the front door behind her.
The front yard was a total mess. The grass needs mowing. Victoria's father's truck was left there to rot for ages now. There were beehives all around them, and the smell of the garbage didn't make the atmosphere any more appetizing to go grab some fresh air, "Shut the fuck up." Samuel says as he takes a sip of his joint.
"Pass me that," Christina says as she reaches for the joint, "you remember our motto when we smoke. When a neighbor wants to smoke he must talk about why he is smoking." Samuel took some time before he finally handed her the cigarette. He didn't understand how she knew all of these things, but was slowly getting out of the denial state he is stuck in and is starting to comprehend that it is really Christina, It has to be. "How?" Samuel asks with no context to his question, it was clear from his voice that he is still in shock over the whole fact that she is here. "Fine," Christina says, "I don't know how okay?" She takes a puff. There was silence for a moment before Samuel snapped, "Don't fucking tell me you don't know how Christina–"
"Shh," Christina interrupts, "there are people sleeping upstairs you dumbass." Samuel could give a care in the world about the people, but he remembered that by people, she meant Victoria. "So how long have you guys been together?" Christina asks, completely disregarding Samuel's question. He heard Christina's question but decided against talking about his life with Victoria. He knew Christina, and he knew her well. If she goes digging around inside of his head she will find out what it is that Damian holds on him and might use it as leverage to get him back — if that was her intention.
"It's none of your business." He finally says, but Christina already had answers lined up for whatever answer he decides to shoot at her, "So you guys aren't together." Christina giggles, "Silly me. I thought you of all people could get over me at some point." She adds as she passes him the joint. Samuel wanted to get up and go inside that instant, but he froze in his place. He heard what Christina said but a part of him couldn't tell her she was wrong. Maybe the reason he never got over Christina was because she never died, and a part of him always knew that. "I tried killing her," He finally says, "I was threatened by someone and I tried killing her, but that was before—"
"Before you fell in love with her." Christina interrupts him again. There was a hint of disappointment in her voice, like the words fall in love took a part of her soul away when it was directed to another girl, but she didn't bother fighting him because after all he had a point. It's been years since she was presumed dead, and they didn't really have a mature love story. They were simply kids who believed they could conquer the world together and live happily ever after like many children do nowadays. They were both naïve kids, she thought to herself.
"Yeah." Samuel whispers and takes another puff. They were both sitting on the floor, and looking at the navy blue sky that was filled with stars. The sky that holds the secrets to everybody in the world and knows everything about everyone. "It's crazy how most of these stars died millions of years ago and only now do we see their light. Don't you think so?" Christina asks, but Samuel ignores her question and gets up and starts clearing the sand off of his pants.
