Victoria's POV

10 Years Later...

The streets of Manchester were beautiful. The people were lovely and very welcoming of Samuel and me, and everyone loved playing with little Christopher. Samuel and I had to change our identities to Mr. and Mrs. Crawford to avoid our pasts coming back to bite us in the ass, but we loved our first names too much to change them.

Samuel was working a job in a highly respected publishing house, and I was a receptionist in the same company. We both worked our asses off to make sure our pasts could never get in our way, and that Christopher wouldn't have to go through a tad of what his father and I went through to get to the place we are in right now.

It was a calm Saturday morning. Samuel and I took little Christopher to the park where we had our picnics. It was mostly arguments about whether Christopher looked more like him or me, but in truth, he was a mix of both—as I always say when I realize Samuel is right.

He had a cute afro and hazel eyes that made him the prettiest boy on earth. I didn't know I could love someone more than I love Samuel until he came into our lives and everything became about him. "Mom!" Christopher called out. "Look at me go!" He was flying up and down on the swings with Samuel behind him to make sure he didn't fall, and it was perfect.

Until she came and sat next to me.

At first, I didn't pay attention to her, thinking she was just a fellow citizen who was also bringing her child to the park, but I couldn't have been more wrong.

Life stopped when she spoke.

Life stopped when I noticed her voice.

Life stopped when I turned to face her and see that she didn't look a day older than that day.

"Cute child," she said, laughing in my face when I turned to meet her eyes. "What? You look like you saw the devil."

I tried to speak. I tried to formulate words, but nothing was coming out. I tried to yell out Samuel's name, pinch myself to wake up from this horrible nightmare.

Until I realized it wasn't a nightmare at all. "Isabella?" I finally choked out.

"Miss me?" She smirked.
