Now...

The day had come for the jury to finally make their decision, and let me tell you, all of Rivervine was eagerly waiting. I wondered if people wanted to know the truth of that night, or if they simply liked the mystery behind how fucked up the story was. A father killing his own daughter and hiding her body so well that no one could find it. But I knew the truth. I knew it all.

I knew what truly happened to Isabella.

I knew about the Loveborns using their power to hide the fact that their son committed suicide because it would look worse for them than him sleeping with his step-sister.

I knew that Salem was lying on the stand. Hell, everyone was lying on the stand. But more importantly, I knew who actually killed Victoria that night, and it wasn't Mr. Blane.

"All rise," the judge spoke in a loud voice, sending everyone to their feet. Mrs. Lauren looked confident this fine morning, a smile on her face that said "I already won" worn proudly. As for the defendant, he knew it didn't look good for him. "Will the foreperson please stand?" the judge said. "Yes, Your Honor," a man in a black tux stood up.

"Has the jury reached a verdict?" the judge asked.

"We have, Your Honor," the foreperson spoke.

"What say you?"

"We, the jury, find the defendant, Mr. Blane, guilty of the first-degree murder of Victoria Blane."

Smiles appeared on many faces, and Mr. Blane looked completely devastated -– as he should, I might add.

"Mr. Blane, you have been found guilty of the first-degree murder of Victoria Blane. After considering the gravity of your crime and the impact it has had, I hereby sentence you to life in prison without the possibility of parole," the judge finally said. "Court adjourned." And at the slam of his gavel, the courtroom went wild. People cheered and called him names as the judge made his way out of the courtroom. The police escorted Mr. Blane to jail, and Mrs. Lauren was getting congratulated by everyone. But I remained seated at the back with my pink hair and my shades. That was when he came and sat next to me.

"Well played," Samuel said. "Your plan worked perfectly." I looked over to Mrs. Lauren and gave her a small nod that said, Thank you for saving my life, and then I finally turned to look at Samuel with my hands around my belly. "I told you," I smiled, "I will do anything to protect our child."

"And that you did, my love." He got up and reached his arm out for me to get up. "Ready to go and start the rest of our lives together?" I took it and looked towards my dad as he exited the courtroom, hoping that he would turn and notice me so I can give him a final wink before I disappear forever.

I wish I could go up to him and spit on his face for the years of pain he laid upon us as a family, but I knew that would ruin me forever. So, I got up and walked out of the courtroom with the father of my child, ready for whatever comes next.

"I got two plane tickets ready to get us out of here in 20 minutes," he handed me a ticket. "Manchester." I looked up at him, "Not a bad place for a fresh start." I held his hand, "Shall we?"

"We absolutely shall, my love."

That concludes it. The long-awaited murder trial of our dear Victoria Blane. I got it all at the end. My wicked bitch of a father gets to rot in jail. A best friend who fucked my boyfriend is rotting deep down in some ocean I don't know about, and my boyfriend hung himself like he should've a long time ago. And I get to start my life with the man I love like I deserve.

I am not claiming that I am a good person, but everyone deserves a shot at love, and if I had to kill my way through it—I'd do it all over again. My name is Victoria Blane, and I am as alive as it gets.
