4 Months Until Victoria's Death...

No words were exchanged as they drove to Damian's house. The moon was silent, the clouds cried, and the sound of thunder was the only thing explaining what was going on in Samuel's wretched heart right now. The street signs looked like memories coming in and then vanishing out of their perspective as he sped past them.

Christina couldn't stomach the speed he was flying at but she knew that right now he couldn't stand to hear anyone judging him. He was focused on the road, and nothing else in the world mattered as of that moment. It was clear to see that he was struggling to bottle up his emotions and was trying to act like nothing happened, but it was obvious from the way he was looking down the road that he was going to cry with just a touch.

There was a little boy lying in there asking for his lullaby. A king awaiting his queen's response. A victim who had his heart stolen by a girl he hardly knew. Samuel couldn't grasp the idea that Victoria simply vanished from his life within moments and he couldn't get her out of his head. She was a voice, a song played on repeat, that was now a resident in his subconscious mind.

He found himself gripping the steering harder and putting more weight on the accelerator everytime her face showed up in front of him. He could hear her giggle, the sound of her laugh that once brought him joy was now a sound he can only reminisce about on his sleepless nights. He got furious whenever he thought about why Christina stood still when he seeked her reassurance, and whenever he would turn to face her all he felt was disgust.

Christina knew that she ruined his life and his chance at ever getting back with Victoria, and although they weren't dating, Samuel liked to think they were. In Victoria, Samuel saw hope, he saw a purpose to living, he felt at peace with his mind and for the first time in a very long time did he feel capable of fully letting go and dropping his walls down. He was taken back to the moment at the bar when they first met.

He wanted to grab her that instant and tell her everything about his life and why he was sent here so they can plan how they can get revenge on Damian instead. He found his queen the moment he laid his eyes on her. A ruler to his kingdom, but sadly this kingdom is falling apart now, and Samuel is falling with it. His heart resides with Victoria now, and only Victoria can restore his soul to its rightful owner.

He was a ghost living in a town filled with people. A shadow who was once a man. A servant who was once a God. He was an emotionless figure, who was once in love. Samuel decelerates as they get closer to the Loveborn's house. From afar he could see that Damian replaced his Lamborghini with a brand new red Ferrari

. He really thinks it matters if he changes the car, he thought to himself and giggled. "We're here", he informs Christina without turning an eye to notice her. He opened the glove compartment and pulled out a pistol. Christina was quick to notice that it was the same pistol that his father gifted him for his 6th birthday.

They were both baffled by a father who would give a gun to a 6 year old, "You never know what happens . . ." His father used to say, but they never understood why someone so young would need a pistol. Well now I know why, Christina thought, but decided against saying it out loud so he doesn't empty the chamber in her head. She thought Samuel was becoming the man his father always thought of him to be. A ruthless demon with no purpose to live – a devil in disguise. She was scared of being in the car with him. The man she loved turned to a man she feared now, and it was all her fault.
