Zander Pov

I pull up at Saffire's gate just as she exits her house. She walks over to my car and I get out to open the passenger door for her.

"I'm not driving with you Zander I just want to know why one minute your nice and the next your mean."

"I'm always nice to you Saffire." I reply still holding the door open.

"I'm not getting in that car."

"Why not?"

"You kissed me lastnight and I haven't heard from you since, then you show up at my house to drop me at work."

"I'm not going to touch you if your worried about that, I just want to take you to work today. I was busy with my son that's why I didn't call." I reply.

She gives a small smile and sit in the car. I close her door and walk to my side and start the car.

We are driving in complete silence and just vibing to some music when I glance at her shifting in her seat every second.

"What's wrong?"

"Are you and Kay dating or was dating?" She ask looking directly at me.

I chuckle a bit before looking at her and I'm just in time to see her roll her eyes and look outside.

I place my hand on her thigh and she slap it away.

I put back my hand but this time I put it closer to her vagina and make sure my finger brush against it.

She look over at me and slap my hand away again.

"Don't frigging touch me. I can't believe your fucking your friends girlfriend." She says with judgement in her tone.

"Try nuh repeat that to nobody cause nth nuh go suh."

"Then why is she always trying to get your attention and does not want me to talk to you?"

"How the fuck me go know that Saffire? U nuh see Kay look like she a brand ambassador for Bellevue."

I don't respond because of the simple fact that I do believe Saffire was a patient there once. Haven't told anyone yet.

The rest of the journey is quite except for Saffire randomly hissing her teeth.

I pull up to her work place and put the car in park and she attempts to open the car door so I lock it.

"Zander please open the door."

"Kiss me first" I reply easing over to her side.

"No, now open the door before I break your window."

"I'll just fix it or by a new car." I reply caressing her cheek.

Her phone rings and she takes it out her bag and I look at the name on the screen and its Tommy calling her.

I remove my hand from her face and fix myself in my seat as she answer the call.

Saffire Pov

"Hey Tommy." I say answering my phone.

I look over at Zander and he is looking straight ahead of us.

He is mad as hell.

"Sure I'll love to have lunch with you." I continue to reply to Tommy.

"Yow gwaan nuh, me a cut." Zander says as he starts the car.

I disconnect the call with Tommy and smile while I look at Zander all upset like we are dating.

"Zander are you upset because I'm having lunch with Tommy?" I ask touching his hand.

"Saffire, me have an appointment. Gwaan nuh man."

"We are not together Zander so it shouldn't matter what I do right." I reply smiling.

"I don't give a fuck with you."

I take up my bag and exit the car slamming the door. Soon after he drives off and I'm left standing and watching the back of the car.

He claims he is not jealous and he does not want to pursue a relationship with me but stay flirting with me and is angry that Tommy called.

It's just hot and cold with him, I know I'm to blame for leaving just like that but what could I do in the situation I found myself in.

I'm not interested in a relationship with Tommy or anything that concerns him. I did it just to get under Zander's skin and I'm left upset.

My phone rings and it's Travis calling.

"Yes Travis what's up."

"Them send Jada out yah inuh. Suh u know seh a problem now."

"What? I thought it was going to be the both of us doing this?"

"Boss seh u a tek too long to deliver Jasper to him."

"I'm this close to nailing him and besides I have to make sure innocent people don't get hurt." I reply looking around my surroundings.

"I'm thinking that guy you been sneaking around with is who your referring to."

"Travis promise you won't say anything to anyone."

"What is it Saffire? Did you find something on Jasper?"

"No but I have seen Zion's father ." I respond wiping a tear from my eye.

"Shut the fuck up. So you have seen the father of your son? That means he is corrupt like Jasper. This is a conflict of interest Saffire so you need to fall back and let Jada take over."

Travis words cut through me like a knife because ever since I started working with them Jada has been my competition and if I loose this job to her then she proves to be better than me.

I know it's a conflict of interest but I'm the only one who knows who Zion's father is. I will protect him from this if it's the last thing I do before I die.

I can't ruin him more than I have already.

"No he is not. The dates don't add up."

"It doesn't matter Saffire. It's still conflict of interest. Have you spoken to him?"

"No. I have to run Travis, keep me updated." I disconnect the call before walking to the building.
