Saffire Pov

It is now or never. Do or die.

I walk into Jasper's office to tell him who I am and demand he give up all information to me that I can use.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you."

I snap my head around so fast it felt like my neck bone shift a little but That's the least of my concerns.

"I see your dumb founded but I could of sworn your little boy toy told you I was reassigned to this case." She says as she steps in and close the office door behind her.

We are both standing in Jasper's office in a silent face off.

Jada is ruthless and mannerless which makes her a good agent but lives are at stake here.

The agency wants to capture Crypto at all cost no matter whose life or lively hood is caught in the blow up.

My son does not know his father and vice versa but I refuse to sit down and damage this man's life over my job.

He has worked so hard to be where he is at and I'll be evil to help destroy that. Even though he puts up a tough exterior I know it will break him.

"From now on you do as I say, when I say it and where I say it. Copy?"

"I don't take orders from you Jada. I never did and I never will." I reply walking to the door.

Just as my hand touches the knob so does her's.

She displays a half smile before leaning in closer to me.

"If I have to take you out in capturing Crypto just know I will with no remorse." She leaves the door and I open it.

I walk through then stop a few steps away from her and turn to look at her.

"Are you sure I won't be the one to stand over your grave? I'm no average bitch and the sooner you know that the better it is."

I don't wait for a response from her because I need to get to Zander right now so I can talk to him.

Lord knows this won't be an easy conversation but I pray it goes better than what I have in my head.

It's best if I tell him who I now am rather than him finding out on his own or worse.

My phone rings and I jump a little. I'm nervous as hell and it's not good right now.

Kay is calling me and I don't really have that time right now to sit and talk about Zues with her. I have bigger issues that I'm not sure I'm ready for but the circumstances I have found myself in is not good.

The phone finally stops ringing and I dial Zander's number which goes straight to voicemail. I try again and it's the same thing.

Just as I disconnect the call something sticks me at my neck and I fall to the ground.

I can hear everything around me but my eyes are blurry and my entire body is numb.

Two pairs of foot walk to my face and all I hear is a slight male voice.

"Take her up."

I open my eyes and I'm sitting in a car. I jump looking around and realise I'm in my car in a parking lot somewhere in Kingston.

My phone starts ringing and I find it under my seat and answer.

"look how long me a call your phone. You must did out with your man Tommy."

I roll my eyes before I inhale then exhale.

"I had some work to finish at the office Zander."

"That you say." He says disconnecting the call.

I throw the phone somewhere in the back of the car and start beating the steering wheel. There is a rag on my seat and I grab it and place it over my mouth and scream at the top of my lungs.

Why did I even take this damn assignment.

Who just drugged me and why?

I bet it was that bitch Jada.

I search through my bag and find my personal cell and dial my home phone in Washington.

Immediately my son picks up.

"Mommy is that you?"

I smile and a few tears fall down my cheek.

"Yes baby it's me. How are you? How is school?"

"I got a A minus on my test. Will you be back before my birthday?"

"Ofcourse I will. Let me ask you this if mommy tells your daddy about you will you be happy?"

"I'll be happy. I'll have my daddy to play baseball with and he'll take me to soccer games. Is he coming home with you?"

I can hear the excitement in his voice and it breaks my heart to think of the mess I have made.

"Yes baby. Your daddy wants to come see you. Be a good boy and mommy loves you." I reply trying to hold back my tears.

"Don't cry mommy. I love you."

The call ends and my other phone starts to ring and it's Kay calling again. I roll my eyes but answer this time.

"Kay I can't talk right now let me call you back."

"Stop searching for me. Look how easy it was for me to find you."

"Who is this and how did you get Kay's phone?" I practically yell into the phone.

"You know who I am. Call off your people Saffire."

The call ends. I dial back the number and it answers on the second ring.

"Listen you don't scare me."

"Girl chill out. What's up?" Kay replies.

I look at the screen and put the phone back to my ears.

"Kay did anyone borrow your phone just now?"

"No I have my phone all day. I was just listening to music before you called actually."

"Kay stop playing with me. A man just called me off your phone." I reply.

"Saffire, I'm telling you no one had my phone and I was listening to music before you called. Where are you and are you okay?"

I end the call with Kay and I'm left looking at my screen with my bestfriend's name as the caller.

I think that was Crypto.

Crypto just drugged me and called me from Kay's phone while she had it.

How is that even possible?
