"We Cartman," Kyle said the next day, "Maybe you have changed."

Cartman smiled, a smile that looked genuine and innocent on the surface, but underneath was one of pure malice.

You see, Cartman knew Kyle was hoping to follow him; he knew Kyle too well not to. He would have been happy to keep that money, but he sacrificed it, and that cat was his. He had let them out earlier. Cartman knew they wouldn't run away; he had texted it, he had planned this out, perfectly.

His plan was going perfectly, "Why thank you, Kyle. I'm trying my best."

Kyle sighs and lifts his hand, "Friends? No more arguments?"

Cartman got excited and grabbed Kyle's hand hastily, "Friends~"

As Cartman and Kyle shook hands, Cartman couldn't help but laugh manically inside his head. Now all he had to do was flirt and get Kyle to date him.

"So...want to hang out like friends?" Cartman asks.

Kyle looks down, "Yeah...sounds nice. Let's hang out."

Cartman smiled, perfect.

Kyle nods on Cartman's door; he waits as he hears footsteps from inside. That's when the door opens; it was Cartman's mom, "Oh hello. You're one of Cartman's friends; he's in the backyard," she said.

Kyle nods and heads inside and to the backyard.

Outside he was met with an odd sight. It was Cartman on a blanket, in the middle of the yard, a basket next to him, candles surrounding him in the shape of a heart.

Kyle raises an eyebrow as he walked over, "Cartman? What's this?" he asked.

Cartman looked up at Kyle with a sly grin, "Oh, just a little surprise I thought would be fun for us."

Kyle couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy, "Uh, okay. What's with the candles and the basket?"

Cartman stood up, motioning to the basket, "Well, I thought we could have a picnic. You know, as friends." He winked, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

As they sat down for the "friendly" picnic, Cartman kept trying to steer the conversation towards more personal topics.

Thank god Kyle liked Cartman, or else this would have been weird, not that it isn't.

Kyle felt color flood onto his cheeks as Cartman continued his attempts at charm. The flickering candlelight and Cartman's persistent advances created an awkward atmosphere. Kyle, torn between suspicion and his genuine liking for Cartman, decided to confront it.

"Cartman, what's the deal here? This seems like more than just a friendly picnic," Kyle said.

Cartman leaned in, a devious glint in his eye, "Come on, Kyle, can't we just enjoy each other's company? No need to overthink it."

"Well, you're flirting a lot...at least I think you. You are right?" Kyle asks, worried he was jumping to conclusions.

"Maybe I am~ Maybe I'm not~" Cartman replies.

"Okay, so I'm taking that as a yes," Kyle says, "anyways, you're flirting a lot, and on top of that, you haven't even touched your food."

Cartman seemed to snap back to reality; he hadn't. Now that he thought of it, he had brought food so he could make it through flirting with Kyle cause, unlike Kyle, he had no romantic interest. But he had barely even acknowledged it, and the flirting seemed to just be coming out naturally.

Cartman shook his head, 'Shit,' he thought, 'I must be getting too into this. I need to separate myself; this is an act, an act I'm only doing for the end result.'

"Oh, right, sorry, Kyle. I just...wanted to get to know you. I mean, I know we've had each other in our lives since the beginning, but we fight so much it's like I barely know you...genuinely," Cartman says, explaining the weirdness away. But it also felt as if he was half explaining it away to himself as well.

Kyle was silent for a second before speaking again, "Well, we can get to know each other without all this romantic setup, can't we?"

Cartman nodded, his eyes narrowing with a hint of disappointment, "Yeah, you're right. I might have gone overboard. Let's just keep it simple."

Kyle smiled before reaching over to Cartman's space, "Though...it wasn't the worst flirting I've heard. It was...quite good, not...too cringe....you could actually get someone with that probably."

Cartman perked up a little, "Really? You think?" Cartman chuckled a bit.

"Yeah, trust me, in a town full of people who...say some stupid stuff, that is...refreshing," Kyle says.

Cartman smiled softly outside, but inside, he knew he had gotten Kyle in his trap.
