"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" Kyle calls.
"Oh, welcome home Kyle!" His mother called back.
"Yes, welcome home!" his father's voice echoes.
Kyle walks into the living room, "Mom, dad, can I talk to you?"
Kyle's mom looks up at him, "Why of course, baby. What's wrong?"
"I'm scared you won't love me after I tell you this," Kyle says.
"Oh Kyle," His father started, "Nothing you say will make us stop loving you."
Kyle sighs, "Ok well...I um...like boys."
Kyle's mom smiles warmly, "Oh, sweetheart, that's perfectly okay. We love you no matter what."
His dad nods in agreement, "Kyle, your happiness is what matters to us the most. Whoever you love doesn't change that."
Relieved, Kyle manages a small smile, "Thanks, Mom, Dad. There's one more thing, though. I'm dating someone."
Kyle's mother smiles, "Oh that's lovely, baby. When can we meet them?"
"Well, I brought them home, so you could see them but um...you already know them," Kyle explains.
His parents exchange curious glances, and then his dad asks, "We already know them? Who is it, Kyle?"
Kyle's mom gasps, "Is it Stan? You two were always so close and cute together! Or maybe Kenny."
Kyle hesitates, "N-No. It's um..." he points towards the doorway where Cartman stands nervously. "It's Cartman. We're together."
Kyle's parents' jaws drop as they stare silently for a good while, before Kyle's mom faints.
Kyle rushes to his mom's side, panicking, "Mom! Mom, are you okay?!"
His dad, still processing the revelation, stammers, "Cartman? You and Cartman? I... I need a moment."
Cartman gives an awkward smile but underneath, he's laughing. Things are already going to hell, a little at first but soon this awkward moment will turn into... he was going to be disowned.
As Kyle's mom regains consciousness, she looks around with a dazed expression, "Oh my, what happened?"
Kyle nervously explains, "You fainted, Mom. It's just a bit of a shock. Take it easy."
"Well, Kyle um....you and...Cartman huh?" Kyle's dad asks, concerned.
"Y-Yeah...look dad, I know it's unexpected but he has turned over a new leaf, at least he's trying to. He has treated me well so far and I love him."
Kyle's dad takes a deep breath, "This is a lot to take in, Kyle. Cartman has a... complicated history, but if he's treating you well and you're happy, that's important."
His mom, recovering from the shock, adds, "Sweetie, we want you to be happy, but we also worry about you. We'll need time to adjust, but we'll try our best to understand."
Kyle nods, "Right yeah, ok, thank you, mom and dad."
"Right, of course, um...Cartman, you are welcome to join us for dinner if you want," Kyle's mom says.
Cartman smiles, "Thanks. I...might..."
"Want to go up to my room, Cartman?" Kyle asks.
"Sure!"
And like that, they run up to Kyle's room, secrets about to be spilled.
