The next few weeks, Cartman and Kyle had gotten closer, at least that's what Kyle thought.
They were spending a lot of time together, every day, talking and laughing; it was nice, at least for Kyle.
Kyle was even starting to think that, maybe, Cartman felt the same. But at the same time, he wondered if he was overthinking it.
Cartman could tell he was struggling, and it made him grin. He knew he would have to be the one to say it.
"So Kyle," he said one day, "You like anyone?" He asked, wanting to tease him a little before confessing.
Kyle blushed, caught off guard by Cartman's question. "Uh, well, I mean... I guess," he stammered, trying not to give too much away.
Cartman chuckled, enjoying Kyle's discomfort. "Come on, spill it. Who's the lucky person?" he prodded.
Kyle was extremely red, "I-I don't want to say...."
Cartman raised an eyebrow, a sly grin forming on his face. "Oh, come on, Kyle. You can trust me. Spill the beans," he urged, enjoying the playful banter.
"I don't know, Cartman, you've only been like this for a few weeks. What if—" Kyle looks down.
"Kyle...." Cartman picks his head back up, "I would...never go back to that...promise." Cartman smiles, fingers crossed behind his back.
Kyle looked into Cartman's eyes, and after a moment, he took a deep breath. "Alright, fine. There's someone I've been thinking about a lot, someone I've been getting closer to," he admitted, cautiously.
Cartman's smile grew, and he couldn't hide the anticipation. "Well, who is it then?" he teased.
Taking another breath, Kyle met Cartman's gaze. "It's you, Cartman," he confessed, his heart pounding.
Cartman's grin faltered for a split second before he recovered, his fingers still crossed behind his back. "Well, isn't that interesting," he said, a fake hint of surprise in his voice. "Because, Kyle, I've been thinking a lot about you too."
That last line wasn't technically lying; he was thinking a lot about Kyle, but it wasn't romantically; it was because of his plan.
"Y-You have?" Kyle asks.
"Yeah... I mean... who couldn't? You're nice, smart, cute~" Cartman flirted, "Dare I say even beautiful?~"
Kyle's eyes widened at Cartman's words. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Wait, really?" he asked, a mix of surprise and confusion on his face.
Cartman smirked, enjoying the moment. "Oh, absolutely," he continued, his tone playful. "I've been thinking about you a lot, Kyle. You're just... irresistible."
Kyle's blush deepened, torn between disbelief and a hint of flattery. "This is so sudden," he mumbled, trying to process Cartman's unexpected flirtation.
Cartman leaned in closer, "Well, you know what they say, life is full of surprises."
"Yeah, no shit. I never thought I would ever get along, let alone flirt, with you," Kyle replied.
"Well.... now that we got that over with, come here." Cartman held his breath, ready to deal with the grossness that is a kiss from Kyle, his worst enemy, most of the time.
Kyle hesitated for a moment, processing, "Come here?" he repeated, confusion.
Cartman rolled his eyes, impatience and amusement. "Yeah, yeah. Don't make it weird, Broflovski," he retorted.
Kyle blushes as he sits on Cartman's lap and leans in.
Cartman felt his cheeks go red as he closed his eyes and tried to shut himself up and tell himself to just get it over with.
As their lips met, Cartman's mind raced with thoughts. Despite making this happen, the kiss still caught him off guard. For a moment, the world outside seemed to fade away.
Kyle, on the other hand, felt happy. The kiss, while unexpected, held a certain passion, something he craved. He found himself grabbing Cartman's..... butt.
Aye, Cartman didn't seem to mind it; all he did was scream in his head.
As they pulled away, both boys were left in silence.
Cartman, trying to regain his composure, coughed awkwardly. "Well, that happened," he said, attempting to downplay the moment.
Kyle, still processing, nodded with a slight smirk. "Yeah, it did. Surprising turn of events, huh?" he remarked.
Cartman chuckled nervously, "You got a little... grabby there, huh?"
Kyle blushed, "H-Hey I um.... I.."
Cartman chuckled, dying inside, "It's fine.... we're together now... we're together now, right?"
Kyle thought about it for a moment before smiling and nodding, "Yeah... yeah, we are."
