J A N A K I
On the terrace, we talked for quite some time. It was blissful being with him. Serene and calm like a sea. He was on the call with someone and I was thinking about our future together. Had he made any plans about the honeymoon? Gosh, even thinking about it gives me hives. I just shrugged away the thought.
Soon we came down to inform our families that we have decided to get hitched. Everyone cheered saying, "We knew that was going to happen since you both were so bent on rejecting each other but couldn't help staying away from one another."
I went to my room so I could gather some books and documents as recently there has been developments in the case of Raghav's company and the municipality of Rajasthan. Before they could send another notice regarding unauthorised construction of hotels I should work with his legal team to prevent such a happening.
Scanning through my room I surmised the books and documents that I would have to take. Soon Maasa called for evening tea and I went to help her.
Babasa had called the our Panditji who was to tell us the date of our wedding.
He was an old traditional type of Pandit who was wearing dhoti, kurta and a turban. He was skimming through our kundalis when I arrived in the drawing room, where everyone had been seated.
He kept the kundalis down and said,"Your constellations perfectly align with each other, you would enjoy a blessed married life, however, every good thing would be considered good when it has been so deemed after a bad thing has happened. If god forbid a storm arises in your life, then the only way to deal with it would be to stay strong together, by being each other's support systems. In times of peril, stick by your husband/ wife's side that's the only way out of it. Rest, assured your married life would be smooth and happy one. The best date to get married would be on 14th of February, 2024. That day is Vasant Panchami, no shubh muhurat other than the beginning of spring, I think."
My eyes bulged at his revelation. I looked towards Raghav, he too was shocked.
Maasa got up from the sofa surprised and she shrieked,"How are we going to do the wedding preparations in mere 11 days? Pandit ji can you give us another date?"
He pushed up his Harry Potter glasses and referring the Panchaang he confirmed,"The 24th of this month is also good but the best would be 14th. I suggest that you can begin the preparations from today onwards and get the preparations done soon."
Before anyone could say anything the landline rang and Babasa trudged towards it and picked it up.
On the line he heard something shocking that he looked first towards Maasa, then towards Raghav's Baba and then towards Aditya. I wondered if his neck would hurt of turning it so quickly in three different directions.
He hung up the phone and then going towards Ragahv's Baba he screeched ,"My cousin brother-in-law, Chitranjan Sisodia, the Rana of Mewar, called and said that he has fixed his daughter, Chandanidevi Sisodia's marriage with your second son, Adityadev. When did this happen?"
I gasped. Chandani is getting married to Aditya? What the fuck?
I looked towards Raghav who was looking at Aditya with an expression that mirrored mine. He too was unaware of this.
I don't think that Chandani knows? Does she?
Raghav's Baba got up from his seating and he went towards my Babasa and calmly replied,"Ranasa, I have just talked with the Rana of Mewar about my second son, there sure has to be some sort of miscommunication from his side, we haven't decided the marriage yet."
