J A N A K I
Oh, the weariness I was feeling due to the lehenga's weight tied on my waist by a mere cotton string and not to forgot the weight of massive real gold jewellery added on by the garland, the fact that I was breathing normally was a boon in itself. I needed a breather from all of this, a little escapade would do. I looked at my right to find Raghav already looking at me. He was meekly smiling at me.
He raised his eyebrow at me in a silent question and whispered,"Are you hungry or tired?"
I tilted my head at him and pursing my lips I whispered back,"Both."
"Then let's get you a mocktail." He said and gestured a server to bring one.
We were both seated on the throne like arrangement and while I was adjusting my lehenga Raghav stopped me and held my hand, taking it he smelled my henna inked hands and replied,"Biwi, mehendi ka rang toh kya khub chada hain, tumhaara pati tumse bohot pyaar karta hoga toh chalo ab bataao ki mera naam kaha likha hai?"
(Wife, the colour of your mehendi is signifying that your husband truly loves you so now tell me where is my name written?)
I zeroed my eyes on him and tried very hard to not smile but ended up failing.
I whispered,"Kunwarsa hum public mein hai, koi dekh lega hume. Baad mein aaraam seh dekhna."
(Prince we are in public, someone will see us. You can look at my hands later on.)
"Toh kya hua? Yeh hum miya - biwi ke beech ka mamla hai. Aur koi tumhare baare mein kuch nahi kahega, bhala kis mein itni himmat ki Kunwar Raghavendra Singh Rathod ki ardhangini ko kuch kahe?" He replied.
(So what? This is between husband and wife. And no one will say anything to you, who has the courage to say anything about the wife of Kunwar Raghavendra Singh Rathod?)
I smirked at him and asked,"Already territorial?"
He smirked back at me and replied,"Much much territorial, you don't know the means I would go to claim you as mine."
I raised my eyebrows at him to show how much shocked I was at his remark.
"But I am already yours." I said shrugging my shoulders.
He nodded his head and pecked my forehead.
The server arrived with the mocktail, which I started sipping while looking around the crowd of people who had gathered to bless us on our auspicious day.
I was looking for Chandani to see if I could talk a bit with her but she was no where to be seen. Neither was Aditya around.
I looked at Raghav and asked him,"Did you send Aditya for any work or something because he isn't here?"
He skimmed the crowd as if confirming himself and shook his head in a no.
"Even Chandani isn't here." He brought to my notice.
I looked at him sneakily and leaned back into the chair waiting to know that we both are thinking the same thing and he just shrugged his shoulders.
