J A N A K I

Today was the first hearing of Rahul Khandelwal's case and I was busy with the preparations with my team. The scheduled time for hearing was 11:30 a.m. and currently I had 2 more hours left.

Rohini was sitting in front of me, sipping her morning tea while verifying the document arrangement that contained the evidence of Rahul's illegal acquistion of lands across India.

She spoke,"From page number 12 to 65 all contain evidence. However, 12 to 20 is about land in Rajasthan, 21 to 37 is of Gujarat, 38 to 45 is of MP, 46 to 54 is of Kerala, 55 to 60 is of Assam, 60 to 65 is of Punjab. I have flagged them and written the initials of the states in order for you to understand." She took out another stack of documents from her bag and continued,"This stack contains the details of what he did with all these lands."

Currently I am in Junagadh as the case had been filed there.

Actually this is the first time I am really fighting against a politician head on, Rahul Khandelwal is a tricky individual, he is like a snake hiding in holes of ground but always aspiring to somewhat slither his way to the crown and then shed off his skin.

All the cases filed against him amongst which land cases are the most, then the criminal and a few civil. I am not afraid of him, but just curious to test his waters, to see that if he has the capabilities to drown me or leave me swimming through his shallowness.

There is a knock on the door of my office in Raj Mahal, and I wondered who would it be right now, as Babasa and Maasa weren't in the palace they had gone to attend the wedding of Avinash Singhania and Tarini Parekh, our distant relatives.

So I am all alone in this huge palace of mine and I would be lying if I said that I am not missing Raghav, his soapy scent, his grunts and low murmurings in my ear, are still freshly registered in my brain, the way he had his fingers tangled in my hair, the way his tongue licked at the base of my neck, his bite and then the gentle kiss that he rushed through at the same place. My neck heated up at the reminder of yesternight and I slid the lid off the glass of water in front of me and gulped down all those heated sensations.

He said that he would come to the hearing directly as he has a meeting with the Amex , he had said that he would be pitching for some investment deal at the Amex headquarters, which is in New York.

"Come in." I said and looked up at the heavy trudged footsteps with the click of slight heels.

"How is your preparation going?" He asked while removing his court and hanging it on the court stand.

I smiled up at him and replied,"It is going as usual, though the details are frenzy. You said you would directly come to the court. By the way how did your pitch go?"

He sat in front of me with a plop sound and sighed audibly,"I wrapped up the pitch quickly and immediately took the jet, for I thought to meet you first. And about the pitch expectations from them are positive. I am confident they are going with it as the current investment market is critical and the reach for profits is minimizing with wars going on in countries with the prospects of development and growth like the Ukraine-Russia war and the Isarel-Palastine one, with increasing tensions between the US and the Middle East only East Asia is coming to their rescue. Plus with China-India border tensions the Amex is going to abide the US government's foreign policy, their neutral approach with scope towards India's growing per capita income. So my pitch will be compared with the Chinese Hotel Groups' and then the decision would be taken. But mostly, it was a tricky one but nonetheless it gave me an adrenaline rush after a long time of pitching sloppily. The prospect and fear of losing makes me want to work harder, it doesn't deter me but makes me want to strive for it."
