J A N A K I
My crowning as the only heir to the throne of Junagadh was to happen today, as in the Royals Kshtriyas who have birthed a princess, their son-in-law doesn't become the heir to the throne once their daughter gets married, instead their daughter on marriage becomes the Queen and her husband becomes her support in ruling the kingdom.
And now since I was married, according to the Royal clan's meeting that happened two days ago, which consists of all the kings and queens of royals spread across India, who decided that its time that there be changes in the ruling of Junagadh. Hence, today is my rajyabhishek for which I had to fly back to Junagadh.
I have been awake since brahmahuharat, as today I am not an ordinary human but in the role of a Kshatriya so I have to live like one, wake up early in the morning around 3:30 a.m. and do pooja of Shivji, without having a single drop of water or food. Since Rohini has left the job because her ass hole boyfriend of 8 years cheated on her and she has taken a break from being a junior lawyer under me and thus has flown to Italy for a break, I have to do the jobs of both senior and junior advocate all by myself so its all hectic.
I am excited, the yajna for my rajyabhishek is about to begin, the entire palace has been decorated like a bride and people from all over Junagadh have come to watch my coronation. I am nervous more than excited actually as the weight of crown is something else when you are a public figure, like Raghav has to maintain his businessman's reputation along with his status as an golfer as well as that of a crown prince of Bikaner. I cannot even fathom how he carries all such responsibilities single-handedly.
I look at him, who is holding my pallu (sari's cloth), as I apply the kohl to my eyes. I look at him through the mirror and find him staring at me with his doe grey eyes. I turn and towards him, "What are you staring at, patidev ?"
He shakes his head as if I interrupted him and broke his daze.
"Main apni roopvanti biwi ko nihaar raha hu, aur aap hai ki hame do minute chain se unki aankhon mein dubne bhi nahi deti ."
( I am admiring my gorgeous wife, and you are not even allowing me to drown into your eyes for two minutes.)
"Tumhaari nazar lag gayi toh?" I asked him.
(What if I get possessed by your evil eye?)
He raised his eyebrow at me but he enunciated,"Then I myself will ward off that evil eye of mine by the traditional gesture of bending up and down with a huge wad of cash and then offer the same money to get the animals of the entire kingdom fed."
I grinned at him and his sweetness.
Soon we were called by the pundit ji for the performance of the yajna. I descended down the stairs followed by Raghav and the other subjects.
The entire palace was decorated just like when it was during our marriage, there were diyas with dancing golden flames adorning every corner of rajmahal.
I was patiently waiting at the centre of the raised platform that was specially built for the yajna and related ceremonies while the pundits were performing the opening ceremony by summoning all 42 crore gods and demigods of our Sanatan culture to participate in this yajna and bless me and the kingdom.
