J A N A K I

A rape case's proceedings take around six months usually to come to trail. First reporting then the collection of evidence from the crime scene, the filing of FIR, taking of testimonies, and so on and so forth. Raghav's case had been sidelined for 8 years for obvious reasons. The obvious reasons being the strings pulled by that wench, I mean, Tanya Malhotra.

By some resources, I found out that she had deliberately pushed the entire case under the rug eight years ago, and now when Raghav has finally moved on from her, she attacked him. But bitch forgot, that Raghav isn't alone this time. I am by his side, Baba sa is by his side and even Aditya is standing with him. No one can mud him to the ground this time.

It's been twenty days since we filed for defamation against Tanya and now owing to the gravity of the case, the court had finally granted us a date for the trial. And it was today, our first trial.

And surprisingly, I wasn't nervous. And the times I have never been nervous has turned out well for me and my client. I am tying the white band tie against the collar of my blouse. I am wearing my favorite classic white sari, that is reserved for my court visits. Since today is a special and important day, I have adorned it with a white blouse with lace embroidered on its sleeves.

Raghav and Aditya are discussing the politics. After Rahul's exit (sorry me kicking him out), they were devising a new strategy for Aditya to fight solely for the state elections. And well, it's been a week since both Aditya and Chandani got married. And to say all's merry in their marriage would be a lie. Seeing Chandani's ramrod back and Aditya glaring holes in her back. They give off a gloomy vibe.

"Its time, we should leave now." Surya, my assistant said.

I lifted my left hand and glanced at my wrist watch. We can reach there in 25 minutes top and the hearing doesn't start until a hour.

"First we should pray." I chimed.

They all looked at me and then nodded their heads, "Yes, god comes first." Aditya agreed.

We all descended towards the hall, and found Baba sa ready in a three suit piece.

I glanced at Chandani and we both strode in his direction. I bent down first followed by Charu to take his blessings," Arey, beta, Laxmi  kabhi  kisi  ke  paav  nahi  chuti  lekin  aaj  bada  din  hai  toh  Janaki  beta Yashasvibhava  aur  Chandini  beta  sada  khush  raho."

(Oh, you both are the form of Goddess Laxmi so you shouldn't touch anyone's feet but today's a big day so Janaki be victorious and Chandani may you always be happy.)

"Baba sa let's pray for Raghav's victory." I urged him and he nodded at me and lead us to the poojagriha (prayer room).

We all headed towards the poojagriha and first Baba sa along with Aditya and Raghav did the aarti then I along with Raghav did the aarti, followed by Aditya and Chandani.

I wished, "Dear lord, please let the truth win. Please bless me and Raghav to defeat the liars and bless Aditya and Chandani so that they resolve their issues quickly and may Baba sa's health goes back to normal and please free Raghav from the clutches of that woman."

I forwarded the prasad to Raghav first. "Eat this curd, sugar and tulsi mix to sweeten your senses and thoughts." He nodded at me and forwarded his palm towards me.
