As Hermione's foresight had foretold, the sixth-year's anticipated moments of carefree liberation during free periods turned out to be anything but the leisurely interludes Ron had hoped for. Instead, they morphed into rigorous sessions dedicated to navigating the mountainous heaps of homework assigned to them. Oddly enough, this homework-induced labour didn't irk Harry as much as he thought it would. He loathed the very essence of homework, yet an unexpected silver lining surfaced – each assignment offered him a legitimate excuse to share solitary moments with Sabrina.

In Ron's vigilant presence, Harry found solace in the guise of discussing homework, a pretext far less awkward than admitting his desire for private exchanges with Sabrina. Ron's watchful eyes followed them relentlessly whenever Sabrina entered the room, sat beside Harry, or engaged in conversation with him.

Unspoken but understood, Harry and Sabrina collectively decided not to broach the subject of what transpired after Harry's first lesson with Dumbledore. Despite the silence surrounding the incident, both acknowledged its occurrence, recognizing the need to address it soon enough.

Meanwhile, the academic rigour reached unprecedented heights. Professor McGonagall's lectures proved to be a labyrinth of complexity, with Harry comprehending only a fraction of her discourse. Even Sabrina and Hermione, stalwarts in their own right, occasionally sought clarifications, underscoring the heightened difficulty of their coursework.

To Hermione's chagrin, Harry's proficiency unexpectedly soared in Potions, courtesy of the mysterious Half-Blood Prince.

The curriculum demanded non-verbal spells, extending beyond Defence Against the Dark Arts to encompass Charms and Transfiguration. Harry observed his peers, their faces contorted and reddened, appearing as though they had fallen victim to an overindulgence of U-No-Poo. In reality, their struggle stemmed from attempts to master spellwork without uttering incantations aloud, a challenging feat in its own right.

Stepping into the verdant embrace of the greenhouses brought a sense of liberation to the students. Herbology had escalated to dealing with more perilous plants than ever, yet the silver lining remained – the freedom to unleash a string of expletives if caught unawares by the Venomous Tentacula. Harry suspected that for Sabrina, this provided the perfect excuse to indulge in unrestricted swearing, much to his amusement.

Their overwhelming workload and the relentless pursuit of mastering non-verbal spells had created a whirlwind, leaving Harry, Sabrina, Ron, and Hermione with little time for a visit to Hagrid. His absence from the staff table during meals signaled an ominous development. Whenever they crossed paths in the corridors or strolled through the grounds, Hagrid seemed strangely oblivious to their presence and immune to their greetings.
