-THIRD PERSON-

(Y/n) couldn't be at ease in the following weeks. She was discharged from the hospital wing the day after hitting her head on the edge of the tub. Harry ensured that she stayed close to him, exhibiting a level of protectiveness akin to Ron's. Despite her repeated requests for some alone time, they disregarded her until she threatened to hex them, reluctantly obliging on the third plea.

Just like Harry, who was engrossed in finding a way to extract the memory from Slughorn, (Y/n) was preoccupied with thoughts of retrieving her diary. Dumbledore hadn't returned it yet, and she hadn't been summoned to his office. She clung to the hope that he hadn't read it yet. The uncertainty lingered—what would happen if Dumbledore had perused its contents? Would he believe her? What if he thought she was insane? The prospect of being deemed mentally unstable and confined to a mental hospital forever loomed over her, jeopardizing her plan to return to reality.

She couldn't afford to be perceived as mentally unstable.

What should she do? Could she pass it off as a prank, claiming she had written it over two years just to tease Ron? Would Dumbledore buy into that?

"You won't find anything in there," Hermione asserted firmly late on Sunday evening. Harry remained immersed in his potion book, as he had been for the past few days, hoping it would somehow aid him in extracting the memory from Slughorn.

"Don't start, Hermione," Harry interjected. "If it hadn't been for the Prince, Ron wouldn't be sitting here now."

"He would if you'd just listened to Snape in our first year," Hermione dismissed.

Harry brushed off her remark.

Seated by the fire in the common room, they shared the space with only a few other sixth-years still awake. Earlier, excitement rippled through the room upon discovering a new notice on the board, announcing the date for their Apparition test. Those turning seventeen on or before the first test date, the twenty-first of April, could sign up for additional supervised practice sessions in Hogsmeade. Despite having successfully Apparated, (Y/n) was unenthused, her mind occupied by more pressing matters.
