-THIRD PERSON-
Katie's transfer to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries the next day unfolded against a backdrop of spreading rumors throughout the school. The news of the curse had circulated, but details remained entangled in confusion. To most, including Harry, (Y/n), Ron, Hermione, James, and Leanne, the crucial fact that Katie was not the intended target remained unknown to the larger school community.
In a clandestine discussion among the chosen few, Harry disclosed, "Oh, and Malfoy knows, of course," to Ron and Hermione. However, they adhered to their newfound practice of pretending deafness whenever Harry broached his Malfoy-is-a-Death-Eater theory.
Harry found solace in (Y/n), convinced that she was the only one genuinely willing to listen. He believed her unwavering support wasn't a ruse to make him feel better. Every time he shared his suspicions, (Y/n) looked into his eyes with genuine curiosity, avoiding involvement in the ongoing debates between Hermione, Ron, and Harry. Her support during those moments was enough for Harry.
"Sabrina... as much as I want to stay like this," Harry began softly, his words whispered to (Y/n) while they sat in front of the fireplace after they had talked behind Malfoy and Snape, "But I need to get going."
(Y/n) lifted her head from his shoulder, her expression questioning, as if momentarily forgetting that Harry was supposed to be in Dumbledore's office by now, attending his second lesson.
Caught in a momentary distraction while staring at her, Harry reiterated, "I have to be in Professor Dumbledore's office..."
A sudden realization swept across (Y/n)'s face, and as her eyes met Harry's, it was as if a universe of understanding bloomed between them.
"Oh... Oh yeah, right. I had forgotten," she confessed.
Harry responded with a gentle smile, the kind that acknowledged shared forgetfulness.
"Yeah, well... um... are you?" he inquired, his hope mirrored in his eyes.
(Y/n) held his gaze for a moment, her eyes like windows to a galaxy of thoughts.
"No," she shook her head, "I'll wait for you... I want to know what your next lesson will be," her words carried a warm sincerity that lingered in the air.
In that moment, their eyes locked, and the dancing flames of the fireplace reflected in the depths of (Y/n)'s eyes. It was a mesmerizing sight, as if the fire within her mirrored the warmth of their unspoken connection. Harry found himself entranced by the beauty in her gaze, a warmth that enveloped him.
