Redemption

Chapter 4: Friends

I walked the halls of my new school and was completely in awe. It was HUGE and everyone here seemed to be nice or either mind their own business. I feel like this is the place I need to be.

Today I decided to wear a skinny jeans jumper with rips on the legs, a black Chicago Bulls long sleeve crop top, and some red, black, and white Jordan retros. To top it off I have on a gold bow necklace with the matching earrings and bracelet. My hair is flat ironed down my back. I look amazing if I'd say so myself.

I was walking past classroom doors and looking down at my schedule till I gave up looking for my class. This junk hard asf! Plus the classroom door numbers are completely off. "You need help?" I looked up and saw some stud girl standing there. I looked beside me and behind me to see who the hell she was talking to.

"I was talking to you ma..." she walked closer to me and I looked her up and down. Hm cute. She was about 5'7, dark skinned, with big gorgeous dark brown eyes, plump full lips, her dreads were twisted back into to braids, her ears shined bright due to the huge diamonds in them, and she smelled good. She had on an Adida Jumpsuit, with the jacket zipper halfway down showing her thick chain and nike sports bra. "Aye you good?" She asked me smiling.

"Um yea sorry. I kinda space out. But can you help me find room 1179... I can't find it." I told her looking around to see if I could find it. "Oh yea that class hard to find cause it's in another classroom. Right in the back of my class. Soo you can walk with me." I nodded my head and she started walking. I followed.

"Oh by the way my name is Camryn but I go by Cam." She stuck out her hand for me to shake it. "I'm Rudy but I go by Rudy." I said sarcastically chuckling at myself. "Oh so I'm dealing with a smart ass huh. What made you come to this school?" She asked me. "I got into a fight at my other school, got tazed, and my mom switched my schools." "So you a bad ass?" "Only if you get on my bad side. Now stop asking me questions."

We finally walked up to the class door and I headed to back where my class was. I walked up to the teachers desk and showed her my schedule. "Hello Rudy. I'm your AP English 4 teacher Mrs. Campbell." We shook hands and I found me a seat in the front of the class.

I pulled out my new binder filled with paper and started to take notes as the teacher reviewed acronyms and authors purpose. I actually love learning it's my ultimate high. I'm a nerd yes but I'm a cute nerd... Kinda. As the class came to an end I packed up my things and logged tonight's homework into the notepad in my phone. Finally the bellrung.
"Hey gorgeous, you need me to walk you to your next class?" I looked up and noticed Cam standing on the wall I guess waiting for me. I looked down at my schedule and saw that I have gym next. "Umm no thanks I saw the gymnasium already I know where it is." "So I still wanna walk with you I gotta introduce you to the school girl come on!" I rolled my eyes but followed her.

"So let me tell you who everybody is. Thats the football team mixed with the basketball team over there over there. Cheerleaders are supposed to be there but they havent did tryouts yet. And Spirit Team next to them. And band and the dance team next to them. All the other sports and clubs are noticeable." she said pointing out the different clubs. I just looked and nodded.

"So do you plan on getting into anything here?" "Ion know maybe the cheer leading team and scholars club. Do y'all have duel enrollment?" She nodded her head and told me to talk to my guidance counselor about that. A minute later we approached the gym.

"Oh yea Rudy, I'll talk to my lil sister Cayla and ask her when tryouts are.. She got the papers from her teacher so I'll get one for you too." I nodded my head and walked through the doors of the gym. I looked around and saw 'Let's Go Romans!' Written across the gym banner. I guess I'm a Roman now. I smiled and made my way over to my gym teacher.

I handed him my schedule and he looked over it signing next to his name like my other teacher did. I wonder why they did that. "Welcome to Los Angeles High Rudy! I'm your teacher Mr. Amoore. I hope you grow to enjoy our school. Today is a free day so you can either play basketball, jump rope, or walk the gym. You cannot sit down or you will get points taken away." He said. I told him thank him and sat my back pack down close then went to get a basketball.

I looked in the corner and saw some boys and studs having a shoot out. "Can I join?" I asked as I approached them. Some of them started laughing and others looked at me weird. "Just cause I'm a girl don't mean I can't ball." I looked up at the rim and calculated how I had to shoot then looked back at them and stared making the shot. "Daaamn girl. I'm Jamal." One of the taller boys introduced. "Don't mind them clowns ain't no girly girl ever asked to play ball with us. But This Tae, Mari, Erin, Sylus, Will, Jackson, and Melvin" he said as he introduced everybody else.

"I'm Rudy. Now can we play?" He slightly chuckled and I lined up as we took turns going to shoot. If you missed and the person behind you made it your out. 30 minutes later it was me and the stud named Mari goin shot after shot. My arms got tired after a while and I let her win.

"Oh naaaw Mari she let you win that!" The short boy Sylus called from the side. I laughed at him and shook Mari's hand telling her good game. "Rudy I know you new here but you wanna eat lunch with us?" Jamal asked as we all sat and talked. "Umm sure, I guess." I told him and we all started back talking.

The lunch bell rolled around an hour later and most of us walked outta the gym talking and laughing. It was now only Me, Mari, Jamal, Sylus, Erin, and Melvin. Cam approached us and dapped everyone up. "So you know the crew?" Cam asked me putting her arm around my shoulders. I glided from her and nodded my head. "Cool then I guess we all can be cool!" Jamal said as he hugged some girl. He leaned down and kissed her and then she walked away.

"Aye y'all wanna hit up the movies Friday night?" Cam asked everyone. "I'm down." "Me too." "Count me in." "I'm in." "You know I'm down." "Rudy you down?" Mari asked me. "Yea that'll be cool." We finally hit the cafeteria and walked back to their table. "Oh give one of us your number so we can text you and make sure you coming." Cam told me. I gave her, Jamal, and Mari my number then got up to eat.
