Chapter 26: Two Paths

Rudy

"Byeee Rudy I can't wait for tomorrow! I can't wait to be roommates! Its gone be tight!" Gina called as I was leaving outta the theatre heading to my car. Work was actually good today! Instead of my usual rude, loud clients I got nice clients who gave amazing tips. I came outta work $250 richer. Who knew my day could go so well?

"Me too Gina I hope we can get to know each other better and become great friends!" I called back getting into my car. I think being at a new school is turning me soft. Cause I've actually been happy and making friends. I've even found out what I wanna be when I grow up. I wanna be a divorcé and family lawyer. I don't know it's what I really wanna do. I remember I told Cam I wanted to be a teacher but that changed. After talking to Rory I've noticed that I've been changing and I've been realizing what I like and what I don't like. I remember I told her I needed to find myself before I got into a relationship and that's exactly what she's been helping me do. She really special to me now.

As I drove to Rory's house from work I noticed my phone ringing. I hooked it up to the stereo system and hit answer on the touch screen. I ain't even bother looking at the caller Id cause it can only be 1 of 3 people. Who is Camryn Lawson of course.

Yes Camryn how may I help you sweetie?

I need you Rudy I'm sick..

Cam I can't I just got off work and I'm exhausted.

Please Rudy *cough cough* I just need some soup and some chocolate.. Oh and some pain medicine..

Cam where is Cayla? And your period must be on? Hahaha

Shut up... don't say that Rudy. I'm not a girl. If you say that too loud people gone hear you.. And she out with Erin. And my mommy and daddy out having dinner. And my other siblings gone to my grandmas house. Pleaaase.

Ughh I guess Cam. But I'm not staying long. I'm fina stop and get you a few things then ima bring it to you make sure you okay then I'm leaving to go to bed okay?

After I hung up with Cam aggy ass I made a U-turn at the light and headed to the CVS. Once inside I grabbed a carrier and began walking up the isles picking up little things to help Cam's cry baby self. After about 5 minutes Rory called.

Yes Rory? Wussup?

Where are youu?? I miss you babeee!

I'm at CVS.. on my way home Cam called talking bout she sick and needed a couple things so im doing this for her and then I'm coming I promise.

Don't be mad Rory. You know we close. I can't leave a friend hangin just like she never left me hanging. Now get your lip outta your mouth, I'll be home before 12. Kisses.

Okay babee don't keep me waiting. I cooked for us and stuff come on!

Finally I got off the phone with Rory and I stood in line waiting to pay for the stuff I picked up. "Did you find everything okay tonight ma'am?" The cashier asked looking tired as ever. "Yes I did thank you." I replied giving her a full smile. "That's nice your total will be $12.53." She told me waiting for me to hand her my money. I gave her the exact amount then grabbed my bags walking out to my car.

After getting all the bags inside my phone began to ring again. Knowing it was Cam I ignored it and turned my radio up pulling outta the parking lot heading to Cam's house. While driving I hummed along to 'pills and potions' by Nicki Minaj. Its been a while since I heard this song so I'm fusho vibin.

15 minutes later I was knocking on Cam's door waiting for her to answer. A couple seconds later she opened it with a Little Einstein's blanket wrapped around her, some boxers, a sports bra, and a skully on her head. Her face looked so tired and she was coughing. "Come on icky Vicky." I chuckled closing the door behind me. We walked back to her room and she flopped on the bed being all dramatic.

"First off you need some clothes on." I snapped throwing some spongebob Pajama pants, black socks, and a long sleeve shirt at her. She slowly put it on but stopped halfway putting her clothes on. "I need help Rudy.. I'm hurting." She whined. I shook my head and put her clothes on for her. Once I was done I went to the kitchen to warm up her soup and get the pills out for her.

"Thank you Rudy." She coughed as she sat up getting ready to eat. I sat the pills beside her on the night stand along with the red Gatorade I bought. She ate and took the pill then laid back with her chocolate. I looked her over making sure she was good then I plugged the heating pad I bought in a socket and slid it underneath her. Turning on the tv for her I heard the front door open and close. More than likely it's Cayla returning before her parents did. I finished making sure Cam was good then I started making my way to her room door but was stopped by her whining my name.

"Yes Cam?" I asked annoyed. "Please stay with me for a little while longer. I need you bad Rudy Booty..." she whispered. I sat at the foot of her bed and watched tv as she cuddled her pillows. "Hey Rudy! Hey Cam!" Cayla said popping her head in the room. I waved back at her and gave her a look for help but she shook her head and told me she got company. I laid back on the foot of the bed and I managed to doze off.

Hours later I awoke to my phone ringing off the hook. I looked at the time and it was damn near 2:45. I shook my head and noticed all the missed calls from Rory. She left voicemails and all I'm guessing she pissed. She'll be alright shoot we ain't together ion have to answer to her.

Without calling her back I got myself together quietly and headed out the house to my car. I drove fast so that I won't fall asleep behind the wheel. I finally made it to Rory's house and noticed all the lights were out. I found the spare key in a flower pot and let myself in. As soon as I made it to her room I noticed she was laying there watching tv.

"Awww Rory you mad at me?" I asked in a baby voice. "No but you promised you'd be here before 12 Rudy.. What happened?" She asked all defensive. "She asked me to stay a lil longer cause she was there alone and I did but fell asleep at the foot of her bed. Now hush." I told her as I stepped outta my work clothes and pulling one of her shirts on. Once I got fully in the bed with her she pulled me close and cuddled into my neck. "You smell weird and you ain't take a shower. Ew. But I can deal. Cause that bet gone get finished in the morning." She whispered as we both dozed off.
