Chapter 17: Decisions

Rudy

I sat on the park bench with my head in my hands waiting for Jamal. As soon as I got off of work I drove here and it's been about 15 minutes. I let out a few tears as my chest heaved in and out. I've been crying every since i got off. I don't have any where to stay so how am I supposed to not cry.

As I looked down at the ground I saw a pair of shoes and looked up coming face to face with Cam. I looked to my left and Jamal stood there looking at me with a scowl on his face. "Talk." He said before walking away. Cam turned me to face her and planted a soft kiss on mg lips. I could've sworn she was mad at me so why is she here? I raised my eyebrow at her and she held up a finger.

"I realized that I really do like you Rudy. I don't like you because you're pretty or you have a nice body. I like you because you're stubborn and because you're so much of a baby and that really attracts me. I don't want someone who just throws themselves at me. I want someone who's gonna make me wait for them, someone who's gonna give me a run for my money. You've been hurt so bad and I'm willing to help you on all accounts it's the best I can do as your friend and hopefully your future studdie." She told me. My eyes searched her face looking for any lies or loop holes but found nothing but sincerity.

I opened my mouth to say something but she shushed me and started back talking. "Rudy I apologize for what I said to you earlier. I was mad at you for not letting your guard down for me. But I understand where you're coming from. You never know who's gonna hurt you next I just want you to trust that I'm not here to hurt you. I'm not asking for us to be together but I wanna know are we tight again?" She asked causing me to nod my head and let a couple tears slip away. We shared a deep hug and Jamal walked back over to us.

He sat down and raised his eyebrow waiting for me to talk. I locked my hands with Cam and leaned my head on Jamal. "Guys I have no where to go. I barely have money and she out me out of her house knowing I had nothing. But I checked my purse and found money from the check I get from my real fathers insurance. I kinda had enough to get a car but not quite enough. I had to do something extra in order to get the car. Please don't judge me. He didn't touch me nor did I touch him. He touched his self while looking at me." I felt Cam loosen her grip but I held tighter.

"I needed the car. I had to do what I had to do in order to get it. Y'all know how I am when it comes to doing stuff on my own. Sometimes you have to sacrifice in order to get what you want. But anyway I have this friend at work her name is Gina. She offered to roommate with me and I accepted hell why not? So this weekend we're going apartment hunting." Once I finished saying that I let out a big sigh of relief. I noticed Cam and Jamal glance at each other and then smirk at me. I gave them both a confused look.

"You missing something." Cam said raising her eyebrow at me. I looked at Jamal who nodded and I let out another long sigh. "I'm sorry guys for being stubborn and hurting yall feelings." I whispered. They both laughed and high fived. "I accept your apology but stop leaving me out I'm your brother you supposed to love me." Jamal told me pinching my shoulder. "Anyway your friend Gina.. Gina Gotay. She's dark skinned, light brown eyes, hair cut into a Bob, a big smile, and kinda thick? Yeaaa that's my cousin. Y'all gone get along just fine. Cause y'all just like each other except she friendly and you not." Jamal told me. I laughed at him and we sat there in silence for a while.

Do they really care about me? Or is this a front to get me to do something that I'm gonna regret? I hope they're honest about what theyre telling me. Cause I will hurt somebody if I have to. I've been through too much to let people hurt me over and over again.

"Oh and by the way. My mom and said you can crash at my place until you get right." Cam told me winking in between words. I frowned my face up at her and we started play fighting while Jamal yelled, "Woooooorld Staaaaar!!!!" I had to stop and hold my stomach cause I was laughing so hard. "I love you guys..." I blurted out. They both looked at me and smiled huge. "Awwwww you do got a heart!" Cam hugged me and we all walked outta the park leaving behind any tension and stress. I'm glad I met them.
