With my hands still shaking, I took the pharmacy test, read the instructions on the label for the second time and took a deep breath, taking it out of the box.

I looked at the mirror in front of me, startled by my own expression, I sat on the floor of the bathroom at work, placing my hands on top of my head.

— Don't be a coward. — I spoke to myself, taking another deep breath.

I got up and peed in the little pot that came with it, then I had the courage to put the test that looked like a thermometer inside it.

First I noticed a blue line become very evident, then a second line.

- It can not be. — I took the test and read the instructions again.

I felt tears slowly wet my face, I reread the test.

"If two lines are evident, it means positive."

I started crying and smiling at the same time, throwing the test in the trash and trying to pull myself together to get back to work.

And of course I couldn't, I asked permission to leave early and got into the car crying again, I was pregnant and would be a mother, Lisa and I would be mothers, those words were still trying to make sense in my head, first I went to I went to the pharmacy and bought three more tests, after all they could fail, and I was extremely paranoid.

I did all three and they all tested positive, then I drove to my parents' house, Lisa wouldn't get home from work for a while, and I wanted to tell her in a special way, to surprise her.

My mother received me worried, I couldn't stop crying.

— Daughter, please tell me what happened. — She said standing in front of me still trying to calm me down.

— Mom, I'm pregnant. — My mother's body faltered a little and she quickly sat down on the chair behind her. - Mother?.

— Daughter, did I hear you right? — She said, still looking at me statically, I smiled at her.

— Yes, you're going to be a grandmother. — My mother got up hugging me tightly and crying with me.

— My God, I'm going to be a grandmother. — She said, still in disbelief. — Did you take the test?

— Yes, I did it at the company and then I did three more, all of which were positive.

— I'm so happy for you daughter, does Lisa already know?

— Not yet, I'll tell her later.

My father entered the kitchen, still lost, seeing us both crying and celebrating at the same time.

— May I know what happened? — He asked curiously.

— Your daughter is pregnant. — My mother said smiling.

My father blinked a few times, looking at my face with a funny expression.

- Pregnant?. — He repeated, still confused.

— Yes, I'm pregnant, dad.

I realized he was about to cry and I walked over to him hugging him tightly, within seconds my mother approached us and hugged us both too.

It was surreal, the happiness of seeing my father emotional, taking into account all his fights with Lisa, and him not accepting our relationship, seeing him emotional about our pregnancy was big news for me.

A wonderful novelty.

I spent at least two hours at my mom's, and while I was there talking to her my anxiety subsided.
