I woke up early as usual, Lisa also woke up with me, she was going to run and look for a job as she told me the night before.

— Her cell phone won't stop vibrating. — Lisa spoke in a still sleepy voice, her face still buried in the pillow.

I turned on the lamp, taking out my cell phone and trying to focus my vision, I sat down on the bed so quickly that Lisa got scared while I called my department manager.

— Miss Park? —Her voice wasn't the best.

- Yes, you can talk.

Lisa also sat down looking at me worriedly.

— You missed one of the most important meetings we had yesterday, how will you be able to prepare her reports?, you are the only one in your area in the company, are you aware of the seriousness of this absence?, how do I tell our boss about this?

- Wait. — I said confused. — Suzy told me yesterday that the meeting was canceled.

— Cancelled. — He laughed humorlessly. — Rosé, this never happened, and saying something like that about the Ceo's wife will only bring you more problems than you already have now.

— Liam, I'm not lying.

- What happened, love?. — Lisa asked worriedly, I gestured with my hand asking her to wait.

— Rosé I need you to come to the company, I don't know how we're going to solve this, meetings are the most important parts of our work.

— Liam me.

— I don't want to hear any more excuses Rosé, I'll wait for you in my office as soon as you arrive, have a good day.

Liam hung up the phone on me and I stared blankly.

- What it was?. — Lisa asked, caressing my leg, I quickly got up from the bed.

- Damn it. — I said angrily, looking for a dress set in the wardrobe. — Suzy tricked me.

I grabbed a white t-shirt and pants, putting on the t-shirt first.

— How did he deceive you?

— She told me yesterday that one of the most important meetings of my life was canceled, and I came home.

— Why did that son of a bitch do that? — Lisa asked angrily, still sitting on the bed.

— She wants to harm me anyway, I just don't know why.

— Aren't you going to talk to her? She can't do that to you.

— Lisa, she is the Ceo's wife. — I said, sitting on the bed and putting on my shoes. — What am I going to say?, look, your wife knows, your children's wife lied to me, yes to me a mere employee.

— And you're going to leave it like that?

— I need to pay for our apartment Lisa, the payments are running out and I can't lose my job now, do you understand?

— I understand that she doesn't have any shit to do this to you.

- Hey. — I said, approaching her, observing her expression of hatred, I knew that look, and I didn't want Lisa to carry that hatred forward. — Calm down, I'm going to talk to Liam, he's nervous now but we've always gotten along well, we'll find a way, understand?

— You're not even going to talk to her?

— She's at the company every day, we'll definitely bump into each other, but I'm not going to say anything for now.

- This is not right.

— There are things in life that we can't escape from going through. — I held her face and gave her a peck on the lips. — I love you, see you later.

I went into the bathroom and quickly brushed my teeth and then left, I didn't drink coffee, I would do that at the company.

As soon as I arrived I went to Liam's office, he was still nervous and I understood why after talking to him, he didn't want to think under any circumstances about a possible dismissal, he didn't see anyone better in that position than me.

There was no point in discussing why I missed the meeting anymore, no one there would believe me and Liam was right, it was better if I didn't repeat that again.

He stayed with me in my room for hours, going through everything he had understood from the meeting, I wrote down the most important parts and started the reports, they weren't late but I was.

Writing six reports on a meeting I had missed was madness, any employee in their right mind would quit, resign.

But I wouldn't give up, I only stopped for my lunch break, I didn't pick up my cell phone, using my own notes to finish the pages that I didn't have access to and were passed on in the meeting.

Liam came to my room at 8:00 pm, telling me to leave, I refused, I would finish everything in a few hours, he left me a snack and a coffee and I thanked him again for his strength.

9:30 pm I heard someone knock on the door, there was almost no one there at that time, I got up feeling slightly dizzy, opening the door and coming face to face with Suzy.

— Miss Manoban. — She greeted me with a cynical smile.

- Goodnight. — I responded with the worst possible tone of voice, I wouldn't say anything, but I also couldn't hide my reactions.

She entered my room and I closed the door behind the two of us, but seconds later I heard knocking again.

I walked towards her again, watching Lisa on the other side, with a worried look.

— You couldn't answer the phone? — She said irritated, invading my room.

— Lisa. — I said, holding her gaze on mine, making a gesture with my head for her to notice Suzy in the room.

- Goodnight. — Suzy said with her annoying smile on her lips.

Lisa didn't respond, she continued with a frown.

— What do you want?

— Unfortunately, we'll want the reports tomorrow, I hope you don't mind.

I held Lisa's hand, feeling her palm sweat against mine, Suzy looked down at our intertwined hands and her smile diminished a little.

— No problem, I was actually finishing. — I smiled proudly pointing at it.

— Really?, you're fast.

— You're pretty cool, aren't you? — Lisa spoke for the first time, receiving Suzy's deadly gaze on her, I shook her hand and pulled her arm, forcing her to face me.

I shook my head, praying for Lisa to calm down with that gesture.

—What did you say, dear? — Suzy asked, catching Lisa's attention.

— You made her miss the meeting and still demand that she deliver the reports first?

—Lisa shut up.

— No Rosé, that's not fair, what's your problem with my wife?

Lisa let go of my hand, walking in front of Suzy so quickly that I didn't have time to hold her, she didn't lower her gaze and kept her on the same frequency as Lisa even though she was smaller than her.

— I hope you know what you're doing. — Suzy said smiling.

— I hope you have a good dentist to fix your teeth. — Lisa was going to go after her but I quickly arrived at her side, pulling her arm.

A fact about Lisa when she got angry, her strength multiplied and I had to make twice as much effort to hold her, something I hadn't done in a long time, I still couldn't believe that all this was happening.

And when I realized it, everything had completely gotten out of all of our control.
