Chapter 10
It has been 2 weeks since that day and Wilbur and Violet couldn't be closer.
They were now the best of friends and trusted each other completely. They would hang out every afternoon before returning home. They would spend library sessions together studying for exams, helping each other. And they did most extra curricular activities together like soccer and swimming.
Violet wasn't known as the new girl anymore, nor was she quiet and shy now. She has grown into a bright student who is enthusiastic, friendly and fun to be with. This was all thanks to one raven-haired, brown-eyed boy whom she spent practically 24/7 with. Wilbur always brought out the best in her, as she did to him. She had never told anyone, including Wilbur, about her abilities, this was just to keep them safe.
Now today seemed to be another ordinary day at St Luke's... But it wasn't. Violet and Louise were heading to English when Jack and his notorious gang, once again, came up to Violet and shoved her against the lockers once more.
"Look who we have here boys", Jack snickered to his gang behind him," Its little Miss Shrinking Violet".
The boys started to laugh wildly, giving them enough of a distraction so that Louise ran to go find help.
Louise ran and ran through the corridors, hoping to find ANYONE who could possibly help, until a familiar voice rang out through the halls.
"Louise!", Wilbur shouted from where he stood at his locker,"What are you doing?".
"Vi...Jack...gang...lockers...B block...", Louise managed to say while trying to catch her breath. Wilbur knew exactly what she meant and so ran away to find Vi.
At this point, Violet was about to explode from the pressure building up inside her. 'Don't let them know Vi, don't let them know!', she kept telling herself, trying so hard to keep her powers in check. Seeing their victim squirm like a fly in a web was enough for the boys to keep tormenting the poor girl.
Wilbur was running like a madman trying to locate his best friend, panicking every time he rounded a corner, finding it empty. He continued his search for Violet until he heard a yell...that sounded like Violet!
"Go away, you creeps!", Violet shouted at the boys, hoping they would just leave. But obviously her prayers were ignored, for all they did was group in closer to her, preventing any escape. Wilbur creeped up to the corridor, staying behind the wall leading to it. He listened in pure horror as heard their sickening laughs, tormenting his poor friend.
'Hold on Vi, hold', he thought pleadingly to Violet, hoping she could stay strong just a little longer.
What Wilbur didn't know was that she was at the edge of her strength, holding back her powers was super tough. 'Don't you dare push it Jack!', she yelled inwardly, wishing these idiots to go away.
But Jack pushed it
He went up to her and grabbed her wrists, holding them tight with a firm grip. Wilbur turned around the corner ,by this point, to get a glimpse of the scene unfolding. At Jacks contact, Violet finally burst.
Invisible forces sped out of her and forced Jack and his cronies to fall to the ground. Violet tried restraining the rest of what was to come, but once she started, she couldn't stop. She turned invisible (her special clothing disappeared too) and started to confuse the fools who decided to mess with her.
"What...?", Jack gawked at what just happened. Vi grabbed hold of him from behind and slung him into the lockers, the same way he did it to her and many others. Her next target was the boy who was on Jack's right, Mike. She picked him up by the collar and kicked him where it really hurt. After dropping him, Josh was her next victim. Violet punch him in the jaw and nose, making it bleed.
Wilbur was watching all this unfold with pure shock. 'She can turn invisible...', he kept thinking, while watching the show,' She has powers...'.
Violet decided the boys had had enough and decided to let them go.
She walked up to Jack, turning visible again, and whispered threateningly "If mess with me again, worse will come". With that said, the gang ran off down the halls to the nurse's office to fix there hurt areas.
Violet nodded with satisfaction, until she heard an all too familiar voice "V-V-Violet?".
She turned to see Wilbur standing there, in pure shock, unable to move at all. "Wilbur...", she started to panic, she had done the one thing she never should have let happen.
