Chapter 13
The next morning can be summed up in one word : CHAOTIC!
The whole house was a mess, with camping equipment everywhere, essential food lay sprawled about the house and Franny and Lewis (or Cornelius) were struggling to pack the GIGANTIC SUV and the rest of the family was running about like headless chickens. Wilbur was trying to pack his rucksack in the kitchen (which is where all the supplies are)but his Auntie Tallulah and Uncle Laszlo were busy throwing paint at each other in the area that it was impossible to do anything!
'I bet Vi is having a WAY better time than me at the moment', Wilbur thought sarcastically, grunting as Laszlo shot paint into his face.
Little did Wil know, Violet's house was probably more chaotic than his at the moment. This is because:
1. Dash was so hyped up, he kept super sprinting through the house, knocking over objects and scattering camp supplies.
2. Helen (Elastigirl and Violet's mum) was struggling to keep Jack Jack's powers in tact AND while trying to gather food for the journey.
3. Bob (Mr Incredible and Violet's dad) was packing the boot of the car but it wouldn't close. So with his super strength, ended up breaking the boot door and was trying to find rope in the garage to strap it together.
Violet was just packing her carry bag when she heard a knock at her window. She turned to see it was her best friend Wilbur. Ever since that afternoon walk from school, Wilbur had taken a habit to climbing the tree outside her window and jumping in every now and then, just to surprise her!
"What do you want Robinson?", the mauve-eyed beauty asked as she opened the window to let him in, a smirk growing on her face.
"Just wanted a break from all the chaos at home. MAN its crazy over there!", the raven haired boy complained while sliding through the window into the neat room of Violet Parr.
"Well if you think its crazy over there, this place is MENTAL!", Vi retorted back, waving her hands about to emphasise her point.
Wilbur laughed at how silly and overdramatic she was, looking like a blind man that was looking for the door.
Violet heard the boy laugh, and she turned around and huffed in annoyance, letting her hands take placement on her hips to make her look stern. Wilbur stopped laughing and looked at the moody teenager in front of him.
'She looks cute when she is mad', he thought out of nowhere. He then mentally slapped himself, asking himself what was he thinking. 'That is your BEST fiend over there, you don't say things like that!'.
But he just kept looking at her wistfully, wondering how soft her hair actually was, or how come her eyes were that amazingly beautiful colour of purple. Out of nowhere, he walked up to her and tucked a stray strand of ebony hair behind her left ear, memorising the silkiness of her hair.
Violet was taken aback from this sudden action. He NEVER did this at school or at home, NEVER!
'Then why is he now', she thought, confused by his actions. Wilbur then traced her cheek with his index finger and came to cup her now red cheek with his hand.
"Wilbur...?", the brown-eyed boy faintly heard her gently ask when all of a sudden...
WHAM!!!!!!
Violet's door flew open, with Dash in the doorway grinning crazily. With this sudden intrusion, violet and Wilbur yelled with alarm. As Violet tried to step back, her leg got caught on a piece of clothing on the floor, sending her reeling back, towards the ground! Wilbur flung his arms out to catch her, which he did...but ended up being pulled to ground with her.
As they both hit the floor, Wilbur made sure to put his hands out in front of him to break his fall. And it was a good thing too! For if he hadn't, poor Violet underneath him on her back would have been squashed!
The two surprised teenagers looked into one another's eyes for what seemed forever, but only mere seconds, when Dash decided to ask "Am I interrupting something...?"
The people on the floor suddenly looked at Dash, then back at each other, then Wilbur suddenly, realising his position on top of Vi, leapt to his feet in a flash and straightened himself, replying "N-N-No, not at all!"
Violet then got off her floor and started pushing out her annoying younger sibling.
"Get out Dash!", she spoke hastily, " I'm trying to pack and you can't be in here!
"Why not Vi?!", the small, speedy blond retorted back, pouting at the same time.
"Because you are a boy and boys aren't allowed in!"
"But Wil is in there, and HE is a boy last time I looked!"
"But he is my Best Friend, and Best Friends are the only exceptions, now LEAVE!"
Dash finally left, pouting and complaining that it wasn't a good enough reason. Once Violet closed the door, she turned to face a VERY flustered Wilbur Robinson, who stood awkwardly near the window.
"Um...", Invisigirl started to say, but was soon cut off by Wilbur.
"Sorry bout that... Don't know what came over me", he spoke softly and apologetically, meaning he meant every word.
"Its alright", Violet reassured the poor boy scientist, "It just...took me by surprise".
"Yeah, well... I got to go. See ya at the camp. BYE!", and before she knew it, Violet's best friend had leaped out of the open window, into the tree, down the trunk, and was sprinting across the road.
Violet Parr stood motionless as she recalled the recent events.
'He actually DID that?!', she kept asking herself as she packed the rest of her gear into her rucksack and ran down stairs to the now strapped up car. As soon as she got in the car, the Parr's took off to their camping sight.
Wilbur sprinted back home, ran up to his bedroom (while ignoring his parents and the rest of the huge family) and slammed the door while shouting at himself
'WHY DID YOU DO THAT!'.
Truth was, he didn't really know. Its just that she was too pretty not straighten her up to normal.
'Wait! Do I actually...it can't be...I can't seriously be thinking tha-', his train of thought was stopped as the door to his room was opened by his mum, Franny.
"Hey sweety, come on, we got to go now. The Parrs have already left", she said sweetly to her bewildered son.
"A-Alright mum, I'm coming", was all Wilbur could choke out.
He then walked down stairs, grabbed his rucksack, and ran straight for his parents SUV. The rest of the family came out of the house too and got into their own cars to travel in, and took off.
As Wilbur Robinson waited in the car for his parents, he thought dramatically 'This is going to be the LONGEST few weeks of my LIFE!'.
