⏳Necessary Steps⏳

    When Hongjoong turned around, he turned to see his mother fixing Seonghwa's hair. "Hey it's ok, you're alright" His mom said softly as she fixed his shirt. Bumjoong walked over and rubbed Hwa's back gently. "Why don't we go get you some sweets or something" He said with a smile. "He probably needs them after that. People here aren't too forgiving when it comes to people being different." Yunho says, coming over and leading Hwa to a sweets shop. Hongjoong stood there a little shocked for a second before Mingi patted his back and snapped him out of it. "C'mon Captain. They're walking off without us" He says, following after the rest of them. Hongjoong followed behind soon after, still a little dazed by what had just happened.
'what was all that..i could've taken care of it but....what the hell...' Hong thought to himself as they walked. 'This is so weird...why are they being so affectionate towards MY Hwa' He thought, his face filled with jealousy. Bumjoong looks back to make sure Hong and Mingi were following them and he noticed the jealousy on his younger brother's face. 'God Hong, you were always the jealous type' Bum thought to himself.
    "So dear, what's your favorite type of sweets?" Mama Kim asked. "Oh uhm...i've actually never had sweets before.." Hwa said, looking over at Mama Kim innocently. This shocked Yunho, Papa Kim, and Mama Kim. "How have you never had sweets" Papa Kim asks. "I've lived in the water up until now. We didn't have sweets." Hwa says "You know, that makes sense" Yunho says. "Well. They just came up with this new treat called ice cream. How about we all get some of that" Papa Kim says as they get there.
As the rest of them go into the shop, Bum pulls Hong to the side. "Listen, they aren't trying to take him away from you Hongie" Bum says to him, gently touching his arm. "I know I just...We kinda just came here for some us time. We didn't really come here to see the family...i'm sorry to say it but it's true.." Hong says, looking away. "Hey, I understand. You just want some alone time with your fiancé and that's fine. Listen I can uh...Maybe I can get the others away for a lil bit. Just to give you and him a lil time together" Hongjoong smiled as he heard his brother's words "That'd be great, thanks Bummie" He says, gently hugging his brother. Bum smiles, hugging him back. 'he's just as childish as he's always been...and I hope he never changes' Bum thinks to himself.
They all get into the parlor and everyone orders their ice cream. Hongjoong ordered rainbow sherbet and Hwa got the same thing as him so they could have "couple" ice cream, Mingi got mint chocolate, Yunho got cookies and cream, Mama Kim got cotton candy, Papa Kim got rocky road, and Bum got chocolate and vanilla swirl. They all got their ice cream in bowls. Hong thought about pushing the bowl away to mess with Hwa after he called their ice cream "couple ice cream" but he decided not to. He didn't want to upset his queen.
After they had all gotten their ice cream, Hwa and Hong sat away from the rest of them so they could have some alone time. Once they were alone together, Hong spoke up. "I'm sorry about my family, they kinda like to but in into everyone's life." "no it's fine, I love your family." Hwa says with a happy smile on his face. Hong looked at him with so much love in his eyes. They talked for a bit and ate their ice cream until eventually Hwa spoke. "Damn- I just realized my birthday is coming up" Hong choked on his ice cream for a second "What did you just say" "I said my birthday is coming up" "When is it" Hong said, still a little surprised. "It's April 3rd" "And you're just now remembering that it's soon?- Hwa- It's 2 days away" Hong said, coughing a little before swallowing his ice cream. "I just never really paid attention to it I guess. We don't celebrate birthdays as sirens" 'Well you're gonna get a human birthday from me, sweetie' Hong thought to himself.
    While they were eating, Mama Kim was watching them and wiping her eyes. "Oh he's so grown up. My little baby is gonna be married soon." She said with tears in her eyes. "Calm down mama. I'm sure Hong would appreciate if you weren't over here crying over his marriage" Yunho said, laughing a little as he rubbed her hand.
After they finished talking and enjoying their ice cream, they realized it was nightfall. Hongjoong and Hwa were sitting with the rest of the family at this point. "Ahh, it's getting late. I'm sure you all need to get back to your ship, yes?" Bum said "Mm, yes i supposed we should start back to the ship. The rest of the crew should have returned by now." Hong says, standing up and helping Hwa out of his chair(like the gentleman he is). "Here, let us walk you back to the ship, baby" Mama Kim said, smiling as she got up.
    Eventually they all got to the ship and the Kim family(Other than Hong and Yunho) stood in shock at how big The King was. "Wha- How'd you get the money to pay for this damn thing" Papa Kim said, a shocked look on his face. "Me and my crew built it with our bare hands" "You stole the money for it didn't you" Bum said, giggling under his breath. "Yea" Hongjoong said with a jokingly disappointed face. Papa Kim looked at Hong with one of those "really" faces which caused them all to laugh a little.
    Mama Kim went around, kissing her babies goodbye on the forehead. Before leaving the group, she quickly turned to Hwa and gave him a forehead kiss too. "Welcome to the family son" She said before the rest of them waved bye and left.

[Yes we researched if ice cream was a thing back then(the 1700s) and it said it was they just didn't have ice cream parlors until the late 1800s. I know this might not be the most accurate but we try our best to make it as accurate as possible. It's just a fairytale after all. We have no reason to make anything accurate, it's just for funsies❤️❤️]
