I can't believe my best friends are getting engaged today! Zach has a scavenger hunt planned that includes all of their friends and family, and I'm apart of the first stop. I have to meet Elena at her favourite brunch spot and hand her the first clue. I made sure to put the clue into my purse and put the finishing touches on my makeup.

"How do you do that?" Jack asked as he approached me.

I turned to him and smiled, "Do what?" I asked.

"We were up all hours of the night and yet I look at you now and you look perfect." He said, which made me blush.

"I'm not sure if it's something in the water or if I'm just too excited to be tired. They're getting engaged and I couldn't be happier." He gave me a small smile and kissed my forehead.

"Do you want a ride to the restaurant? My part doesn't take place until this evening so I don't really have anywhere to be at the moment."

"I mean we do have some time, if you want we can go to your apartment, and you could get ready and come with us. But only if you want to." I suggested.

"That's a sweet offer but you know I take a long time to get ready, and I think I'm supposed to meet with Alex in an hour or two, but thank you. Maybe at the restaurant tonight you'll let me buy you a drink?"

"I think I can do that." I gave him a kiss on the cheek and turned to face him. "So you don't mind giving me that ride?"

He chuckled, "I mean what's a ride for a ride?" He said cheekily, I swatted him in the shoulder. He pulled me in close by the waist and brush my bangs behind my ears. "I missed you."

"I missed you too." I gave him a peck, grabbed his hand and lead him out.

Alex's POV

I tossed my keys onto the kitchen counter and placed the cage onto the tile floor. I unlocked the cage door to let  O'Malley out to explore. Zack had asked me to look after Elena's cat for the day and dress him up to be apart of the clue that I give to Elena. I should be happy today, my best friends are getting engaged, and I get to be there for that, but my mind still wondered...

I heard a key jiggle in the front door and in walked my best friend of all and the distant scent of Summer. "I see you picked up Thomas O'Malley the alley cat." Jack stated. And yes, Elena did rescue the orange furball from the alleyway of her first apartment in LA.

"And I seem to remember that you were supposed to pick him up with me." I stated as Jack scooped O'Malley into his arms and began to give him ear scratches.

"Grab some beers and I'll tell you about the past 24 hours." He said and I did. "Zack texted me yesterday while I was out that he was going to postpone the proposal and so I went and picked him up. Turns out that Andy was still getting super drunk and taking it out on the girls, only this time he did it to Elena. Anyways, we ended up having to get Summer to bring him to a rehab centre. So the proposal was back on but Summer was blaming herself for Andy's sobriety and I decided to stay with her last night. I didn't want her to go on feeling that way."

My eyebrows furrowed, "So you're back together with Summer." I said and he shrugged.

"Not yet. All we did last night was talk, but I think it's heading in that direction."

"And it should... I mean with the engagement happening, and Lisa and I back in contact, it's almost like nothing happened this past year." I sighed slightly.

"How did it go with Lisa yesterday?" He asked.

"She's really angry... she has certain conditions about us getting back together and I'm not sure if they're conditions I'll be able to commit to."
