I woke up in my bed all tucked in and still wearing my dress from last night. My head was absolutely pounding and the light peering through my window was making it worse. I slowly got up and closed my curtains. I took off my dress and changed into my sweats. It didn't take away the puke aroma but it was a hell of a lot more comfortable than the dress. I caught my reflection in the mirror on my dresser and noticed that my makeup had been taken off. I also noticed a bottle of Advil and a glass of water sitting on top of my dresser. I took a couple pills and brought the water with me to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and jumped into the hot water ever so quickly. I swear there is nothing more soothing after a long night than hot water on the skin. After I got myself cleaned up, I threw my sweats back on and headed out to the living room. I found Alex asleep on the couch, still wearing his suit from last night. His phone was vibrating on the coffee table with several missed messages and calls. It was a mix between Lisa and Jack, both probably freaking out that he hadn't made it home.
I sat down on the arm of the couch and lightly brushed his hair out of his face. I have always loved Alex, he's been one of my closest friends for years, and maybe I do love him more than I've let on, but I've already messed up everything for the group. Even as I look back at last night, the way Alex and Jack looked at each other was heartbreaking. I'm ruining their friendship, and I hate myself for it. But every time I try to remove myself or stay true to a decision, things just get worse. The guys have already put off deciding tour dates because of the wedding from hell, I can't let this continue.
"Alex, you gotta wake up." I whispered and his eyes fluttered open. He smiled as he looked up at me.
"You are a sight for sore eyes." He said, and I held back my smile.
"Your phone has been blowing up." I stated, pointing over to it.
He sat up, "Maybe I should've gone home last night, it just didn't feel right leaving you alone when you were so drunk. You threw up in my car by the way." He chuckled.
"I am so sorry, I'll pay for it to be deep cleaned." I started and he shook his head.
"I don't care about the car, I care about you. I don't think I've seen you that drunk in years, you really had me worried." He said and I moved down to the couch cushion next to him.
"I am not having another drink for a very long time, my headache this morning solidified that." I said with a laugh.
"Elena and Zack had a lot of fun though, Zack called me before I put you to bed."
"So everyone knows that you took me home, don't they?" I asked.
"I don't know about everyone, but potentially." He said and I sighed.
"Oh god, I haven't even checked my phone." I said, I tried to get up to go grab my phone from my room, but Alex grabbed my hand to stop me.
"Before you look at your phone, can we have a conversation?" He asked. I nodded and sat back down. "Have you had a chance to think about what I said last night?"
"I saw the way Jack and you looked at each other, I don't want to be the reason you guys aren't friends anymore or the reason the band breaks up. I'm tired of my messiness." I said and he took both my hands into his.
"Jack and I are gonna be fine, I promise. I don't want you to feel like you have to choose him because it's the easier choice." He said and I sighed.
"I do love him, I mean I've always loved him. But I don't know if I can be with him after what I know." I said and got up. "And I think I've always loved you, but if we get back together it's gonna mess everything up all over again."
