Different

I drop onto my bed in a big sigh as V looks at me from her mirror where she's reapplying eyeliner. "What took you so long? The challenge was like 30 minutes ago" she asks focusing on her eyes again "i went to talk to Harry." I reply as i look up at the ceiling "Potter?" She questions. "No the other harry" i roll my eyes . "Well i just thought after the whole thing with Draco being jealous you would have kept a bit of distance from him..." she trails off lightly.

I sit up properly to see her turned around and facing me. "You really trust Draco to tell you who to be friends with?" I raise my eyebrows. "I just thought after his whole insecure act you would feel a bit-

"Insecure? V seriously? Draco is his own person" i scrunch my eyebrows feeling guilty "yeah of course he is but Blaise kinda told me you guys have been acting different this year" she stood up making her way towards me. "When Draco said that to him?" I ask confused. She wiggles her eyebrows and sits down on the bed with me. "I've just heard from Blaise that they've been mentioning stuff to Draco and lately he doesn't get as pissed off as he would. When Ed asked about it he told them something felt different" she blurts "different?" I raise my eyebrows worried.

I haven't really thought about this thing with Draco. Because we have been acting the same. Touchy, close and all but its just those odd moments and i don't know if i just chose to ignore them but i did. I don't want anything to ruin my friendship with him. I'd never forgive myself if something did.

"Don't get worried about it! It's a good thing. Blaise and i have always shipped you two" she grins as she slumps on my bed looking at the ceiling. "How long have you even known about this?!" I ask surprised at all the knowledge she has. She shrugs a bit thinking of an answer "like a week tops" my mouth drops and i grab the nearest pillow hitting her in the face. "You bitch!" I say with a smile on my face. She grabs the pillow and sits up properly "I'm sorry! It's just we never really have any girls time anymore. Im either with Blaise or were with the boys or your with a guy- its a lot to keep up with!" She overloads and it makes me giggle at her stressed face.

"Veronica Vervain are you trying to say you'd like a girls night?" I smirk and her face lights up but then drops with a pout in less then a second. "I promised Blaise and Ed that they could come round tonight. They're gonna bring Draco along as well?" She wiggles her eyebrows at me. "Stoppp. Come on me and Draco are just friends. Always have been." I look hr straight in the eyes but she just stays quite with a little smile on her face

Draco's POV
Ed bursts into the dorm jumping about with a big grin on his face. I roll my eyes and take my attention back to my book. "Weed is secured for tonight" he speaks out as he high five's Blaise. "Nice. V said she had some left over drinks from the last party as well" Blaise shared as he started to change into a different shirt. I rest my book on my lap and look at the two "what are you guys planning?" I ask suspiciously. Ed turns to me with a smirk "i was hoping you would ask. We are going to the girls for a bit of smoking and drinking. Including you." Ed speaks up as he lobs the weed onto his bed.

"Could have given me a heads up" i scoffed as Ed makes his way over to me. He lays on my bed facing me "Sophia is gonna be there" he smirks as i roll my eyes and lift my book back up to my face. "Dracooooo don't hide from it we knowww. You confessed to us while drunk" Ed whines in my ear slapping my book away from my face. I give his a short glare before he takes my book and chucks it onto my bedside table "get ready we're going in like 15 and you gotta look good for that chick" he states

"Don't call her that." I demand as i get up to get changed. "Okay mr protective don't worry she's all yours...well a lot of the school-
Ed clears his throat at Blaise's rambling as i send him a death glare. "Im serious. Soph has always been my friend. I've never seen her life that before-

"But now? What do you see her as now?" Blaise asks curiously. "I don't know ok? Something just keeps happening i don't know what it is" i huff as i walk into our bathroom. "Someone's not very happy about his mixed emotions..." Ed mumble from the room with a sigh

The boys burst in, Ed making a dramatic entrance as V finishes pouring shots for everyone on the floor. I lie on my bed, stomach down, and catch Draco's eye as he walks in. He looks a little annoyed from his normal blank gaze but as he picks up two of the shots from the floor and walks over to me the annoyance in his face disappears. "Cheers" he hands me one of the shots and downs his, me following him. He sits on the edge of the bed facing the others with a little sigh.

"Whats up?" I ask, eyebrows raised. He shakes his head lightly "i just really need some weed." He looks back to me with a small smile. "Agreed." I reply as i get up and head to the others where they're rolling a joint. Draco makes his way over and sits next to me. "Why do we always form into this cult circle?" V asks as she lights the weed with her wand. "Why not" Blais shrugs next to her as he watches V inhale closely.

Ed pounces towards a bottle of fire whiskey and starts pouring some glasses. "I feel like we've done this ten times this year. This is getting boring just sitting in a dorm and smoking. I thought we were supposed to be fun" Ed pouts as he takes a sip out of one of the glasses. I roll me eyes at him "what you wanna go get high in the forbidden forest or something?" I let out a little laugh, picturing Ed terrified in  the forest. He lets out a sigh before bouncing up in a straight posture but then slouches again "i cant wait till its warm so we can go in the lake like last year" he sighs as he takes the weed from V. "You have way to much energy" Draco scoffs as he takes one of the glasses of whiskey.

It's been probably an hour. Im sat leaning against my bed observing everyone in a group conversation while taking a puff of weed. This. This makes me happy. Us all having fun together. Laughing. I get taken out of my daydream when Draco slowly takes the joint out my hand, leaning closer to me with a curious look on his face.

"Why are you smiling?" He asks me quietly, eyes squinting as he's trying to read me. I shrug as i look at the others that are in a deep conversation of the hottest professor.

"Im just saying! Shape is so mysterious. Quick fuck never hurt..." V smirked and i roll my eyes as i turn my attention back to Draco, who is still studying my face.

"Stop. You're freaking me out" i push lightly on his chest but he doesn't move. "Answer the questions then" he gives me a little smirk before sitting properly against the bed and next to me. I let out a little sigh as he inhales some weed. "I just- this. It makes me happy." I turn my head to see he's already looking into my eyes, making my breath catch a bit at his deep grey eyes. he raises his eyes slightly with a small smile "talking about hot professors makes you happy?" He lets out a short laugh as i nudge him a bit.

It feels weird. Sitting like this with Draco. Normally we'd be closer. But there's a slight gap between our sides. And we'd be more touchy but I'm too conscious to be like that now. Draco would probably put his arm round my shoulder, pull me closer, whisper into my ear. All in a friendly way but after what V said about it being 'different'. I don't know if i like it. I don't know if i want to loose Draco as a best friend because something feels 'different'.

"No Draco. All of us. Together. It makes me happy" i smiles at him not being able to break away from the eye contact he's holding. He replies with a small smile as if i cheered him up the slightest. But it's silent. As if he's thinking of something to himself but forgot i spoke. "So what got you in a mood earlier?" I ask turning my body to look at him

"Nothing-

"No let me guess! Uhmmm... a first year? Gryffindors? Dumbledore? Potter? Oh oh! Muggles?" I ask slightly making fun as he rolls his eyes playfully. "No. These twats" he nods towards the others and sends them a glare "bunch of idiots" he scoffs before filling up two shot glasses and handing me one. I raise my eyebrows and link our arms around the others arm before we both down the shot. Draco lets out a little laugh at the slight reaction i still get and it's silent again. Then i start to unlink our arms and he looks to the floor, clearing his throat as he does.

"Oi! Sorry to interrupt ur little moment but you're hogging all the weed" Blaise comes over snatching the joint from Draco who gives him a look as i realise my cheeks have heated up. "Imma go to the bathroom." I quickly stand up, getting a glimpse of V's suggestive face as i walk into the bathroom. Ed tuts and mutters in the other room "Painful to watch"
